GHjelm, you do know I was teasing, right? I was thinking of a night at my buddy's place in the UP when a black bear decided to check out the picture window. Yes, the gun was grabbed, but the bear never decided to break through the glass. Sorry if my comment seemed like snark. It was not meant to be so.
No worries. I generally take things in good faith. We don't see many bears here although nearby Nicolet has over 250 in 2500 square miles. I'm more nervous about the wolves we've been hearing for the first time ever. Haven't seen one yet, though. Taking the dog to the end of the driveway at 11pm is a little intimidating.
No bear sightings for me yet, unfortunately. They are around, we've been told. Something to a giant dump in the front yard. Too big for a dog. Too big for a person. Certainly not deer. Maybe, bears don't just sh*t in the woods.
