What do people think of my chances to get 2 tickets for the rome quarter final in a future ticket re-sale through uefa?
overall feeling is that all tickets are going to be easy this time, if there is tournament at all. we all do not know how virus situation may evolve and if one or another country makes restrictive laws anything may happen.
We were a group of friends. Most gave their semi tickets back. My semi + final tickets i am keeping and hoping to see london
Yeah, I am torn about selling some of my tickets before the 25 June deadline. I guess after 25 June we are not guaranteed to get a full refund? i.e. We would need to hope that UEFA can re-sell the tickets, which under normal situations wouldn't be a problem but really difficult to predict now. And then there is the increasing likelihood that the tournament doesn't start until late-June/early-July. That could make travelling more expensive. I wonder if there will be another refund window if/when UEFA have to push the start of the tournament deeper into the summer.
Unless you have cat3 or FF final tickets for which you will attend surely, I'd give it all back. If you managed to get them now you'll be able to get them in 2021. We returned 4 cat2 finals, semi finals and Amsterdam games. I would only keep cat3 tickets if even then.
If the dates move then legally they have to offer you a refund again. In fairness UEFA have been very good on this. It is very difficult to tell at this stage. I am keen to go and as of now can make all the games in 2021 that I planned for in 2020. It is easy for me though living in Dublin. Most indicators would say tickets will be easier to get but who knows what the world will be like in 12 months time.
I really think it depends on how risk averse you are in terms of getting tickets back. There's a bunch of unknowns in terms of how many tickets are being returned, how much demand there is/will be (it could be more because of all the behind closed doors games and people being happy they can see football again live or it could be a bunch of people staying away for their health), and the status of the virus next summer. I'm planning on keeping all of the games that I already bought except for one (a Bucharest ticket bought before the draw where I would rather see Austria over the Ukraine, so I will hopefully switch it to that one and don't think it will be a problem) because I personally don't want to deal with some of the randomness that the ticket lottery/resale was again. If I was going to give up tickets, it would only be to locations where they were readily available before the shutdown like Baku, Bucharest, Glasgow, Dublin (group games), Bilbao, and Rome (can't recall if that was one or not) and wouldn't contemplate giving up the others unless I have no intention to go in 2021 at all (or if my finances were an issue now). Just my two cents.
Having said all of that, I'm still torn on giving up my Ukraine Cat. 3 Bucharest ticket by Thursday since it is only 30 euros and UEFA has announced no resale details and I plan on going to Bucharest regardless. Haha.
I don't think they legally have to if it's because of the virus again, but I'm sure they would. I'm sticking with my plan for this year, flights looking cheaper and will soon be available, with vouchers available for cancellations which I'd be happy with. Fully refundable hotels look a decent price too, so it seems like very near a no risk thing to keep the tickets.
You are correct actually. However it would be considered unfair under "Unfair Contract Terms Directive 93/13/EEC" so while UEFA could possibly try to avoid such a scenario it is highly highly unlikely they would. All my hotels for next summer are booked on a free cancellation basis. I don't see the dates moving next year. Still possible it will be cancelled or played without fans.
I kept mine. I live in London, so as there will be no travel/hotel costs, I see no reason to sell just yet. The opportunity to to potentially see England in a Euros semi final at home means I will only sell it something comes up and I can't go.
I have two tickets for a few matches. If I were to buy another single ticket for these matches during a resale, would all three tickets be seated together?
Not sure if you can do it after you've bought the first two, but you should be able to allocate a group number to them and quote it when you buy the third ticket so they're all together.
Some potentially good news impacting one of the host cities: The Netherlands plan to allow fans into stadiums starting in September (but no chanting allowed): https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ed-CHANTING.html?ito=native_share_article-top
I had not planned to go to the Euro this year, but since it was postponed, now I do. I am planning to catch two round-of-16 matches (Budapest and Bucharest) and two quarterfinals (Munich and Rome). What's your take that tickets will be available to those matches? Of course, I am hoping there will be no travel restrictions...
