I think 2021 happening is still going to be pretty in the balance, its pretty likely next season would be disrupted so it would come down to whether club pressure would force UEFA to cancel it. Or perhaps a much shortened event played over international breaks like the Nations League is.

2022 could be interesting as well, I can certainly see a movement promoting a mass boycott gaining momentum as we get closer.

I wouldn't be surprised if countries boycott Qatar not only because of the fact that it disrupts almost every league around the world especially the Premier League in England. But also I can see England boycotting Qatar should it come down to it. However, didn't countries including England threaten a boycott in 2018 before Russia 2018 happened because of the situation between Russia and Ukraine? But the 2018 World Cup still went ahead as planned

Seems to be quite a few upset Club fans regarding the Nation League fixtures. I wonder how many players will pull out injured for these fixtures?

    Sweden 2-0 World Cup quarterfinals
    Czech Republic 5-0 Euro Qualifiers
    Kosovo 4-0 Euro Qualifiers
    USA 3-0 friendly with a B-Team

That close door game against Croatia we should've won 3-0 but never took our chances. Since the World Cup, England has played to their potential the majority of the time, which is very satisfying because for years that's rarely happened.

To be fair Columbia let us have the ball up until Kane scored that penalty.

Foden is 20 and will be 21 when the Euros start next summer. Walcott and Wilshere were teenagers when they were thrust into the spotlight. Hell, even Dele was 19 when he came about for Tottenham and scored that worldy against France in 2015. IMO Foden is ready.

I do think Sterling's form is becoming a bit of a worry now. I see a lot of City fans and comments from their fans these days expressing dissatisfaction with his displays time and time again and it seems he hasn't been playing well consistently since Autumn. I know he's been playing on the left a lot this season and he's had a very heavy workload, but we've had a 3 month break now and he still looks out of sorts.

I didn't initially read anything into the Gomez incident, thinking Liverpool fans were just trying to revel in his misery. However, I do wonder if it has had an impact. I feel Sterling is very much a confidence player and it may have hurt him having been part of a negative story involving the NT, even if England dealt with it well. Having said all that, you'd feel he'd be over that by now.

******** club football. The euros was cancelled because of the epl and other top leagues resuming. I'm only interested in England

Its what we want though to be honest, it’s a lot better than meaningless friendlies. All should be good games and I’m looking forward to them depending on what sort of Squad we can muster.

I think the squad will most likely be the same like it was for last year's Nations League

I guess it depends on if the Clubs kick up a fuss, I mean in theory they have to release players for International football under FIFA rules but like I said earlier, there could be some ‘ injured ‘ players for when the Internationals return more than usual.

I’ve never really rated Sterling that highly to be honest .. I just see a pacey player with a low centre of gravity doing ok ...

I just don’t think his technique is anything like as good as it needs to be for a really top level player .

He’ll never be a great finisher or dead ball taker as he scuffs the ball )when shooting and even passing ) more than any other player I’ve ever seen..

Sure he had a good scoring spell when City where flying ( plus look how many chances and tap-ins he was getting for them ... some where saying he was the best in the world or close but now I think he’s found his true level

Jadon Sancho is a far better talent in my view

Saka is about to massively blow up at Arsenal. He's been so impressive and has been moved into a more central role of late. Initially thought he'd be just a conventional winger but he's such a natural and clever footballer. He also has an absolute wand of a left foot. Honestly think he could force himself into the squad for the Euros.

Agree with both of the comments above wholeheartedly.

Sterling hasn't any culture, he's a runner and I think we've seen the best of him.

Saka/Sancho on the other hand are complete naturals -Saka is odds on for the next squad and I doubt he will ever get left out again, Ashley Cole style.

Also very happy Mason Mount is getting the praise he deserves. Maddison has disappeared off the face of the earth after a few on here had made their minds up that he was the better player of the two.

There was even a bit of hate for Mount as I remember? Headless chicken I think it was. The chaps that clever he plays two positions throughout a game, making his own decision as to when he slips into the hole.

Praise from Messi and Souness lately backs me up too.

    This is utterly absurd.

What is it with England fans and writing off the best players in favour of the next great hopes? No doubt in 3, 4, 5 years it'll be forget Sancho and Saka, lets talk about the next great hopes. I hope they do deliver for England. But lets not forget John Stones should be one of the worlds best centre backs, Luke Shaw should have spent half a decade by now as England's undisputed left back, Jack Wilshere should be the lynchpin in England's midfield based on similar hyping of the youth.

Sterling is 25 and just had the 2 best seasons in his career. He's not had a great season this year (still scored plenty though), but then City in general have been pretty lacklustre by comparison to the past few seasons as well. He's hardly some Wilshere like figure who's completely fallen out the picture from the initial promise.

He's been banging them in for England. He has enough great technique to put chances away. That's not by luck. He's been one of city's best players the past few seasons

He’s played for City so he gets a ridiculous amount of scoring chances plus possession ... I bet we wouldn’t even be talking about him if he played with a team like Villa

    It’s all about opinions ..

Every ‘naturally talented’ ex player simply raves about Grealish ... Joe Cole and Glen Hoddle today for example .. when you get guys with their ability raving about someone you know they’re talking about a special player .

Sterling wouldn’t be able to make any difference to a side like Villa and there’s no way he’d be carrying his team like Jack does .

Sterling is like the sprinkles on top of a lovely trifle :)
