https://www.engadget.com/fubotv-adds-espn-abc-disney-channels-082515623.html The downsides seem to be minor: The channels won't be added immediately and you'll have to pay more if you want ACC Network or SEC Network and don't live in those markets.
This is great news, but of course there will be a price increase. It should be worth it since you will be able to get just about all the soccer, and other sports, that are available for viewing in the USA in one service. Here is information and some details from Fubo: https://support.fubo.tv/hc/en-us/ar...will-Disney-ESPN-channels-be-added-to-fuboTV-
I’m thinking of switching when some of my DirecTV credits roll off. I’m currently paying DirecTV $120 per month for Premier, Epix and the Deportes Pack after various promotions and credits are factored in. And I already pay Fubo $10 per month for their original package to get BeIN and Gol and TyC in HD. So that’s $130. I can get Fubo Ultra for $80, $6 for the international sports add on, and then get Starz ($10) and Epix ($6) either direct or through Amazon and I’d be at $102, which is much lower than even my *promotional* rate on DTV. (I get HBO free by virtue of my AT&T cell plan, which gives me a $15 credit on my DTV bill.) (I get Cinemax through my DTV plan, but now that it has no original programming I wouldn’t pay $10 extra for that.) And in three months, I have $55-65 in credits rolling off my DTV account. So even if Fubo goes up $10-15 per month, it’s still a huge bargain. I’d gain the pac-12 channels and red zone, and the only thing I watch that I’d be giving up is the 4K premier league game (which hopefully finds its way on to fubo or the nbc app soon.) Am I missing anything?
Streaming is cheaper, in general, since you don’t have to pay for the equipment. And fubo’s addition of ESPN completes what most of us have been missing: one place where you can get all the channels we need. The only thing I would caution you to check is if your internet provider has a data cap since you will be streaming a lot based on your list. Those can be deal killers in places where there is no internet competition.
That is interesting. I wonder if it will be in HD. Fubo has RAI Italia in HD already for the same price. DirecTV has it in SD only. Dish had it in SD for years, and in HD very briefly before RAI and Dish had a dispute over exclusivity, as I recall, and it left Dish.
NFL Network, NFL RedZone, Eleven Sports, Fox Deportes, Univisión, UniMás and TUDN are only available on FuboTV. Sinclair's Fox Sports RSNs are only avaiiable on Hulu, YouTube TV and AT&T TV Now.
They are part of the Spanish language add on package (Espanol package) for $15/month. The Spanish language sports channels are included in that package, but are $5/month, if purchased separately (Deportes package).
Related: AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh was added to AT&T TV and AT&T TV Now, but not AT&T Watch TV or U-Verse. TBH, I don't expect much to be added there, since those last two are relatively depreciated.
Sling has a new feature where a customer can host a virtual watch party. It is basically video chatting with up to three friends watching the same sporting event (or whatever). The first time you do it is free and the other people do not have to be customers. Just set up a watch party through the website. I think it sends a link to their email or something. I have not tried it yet so I have no idea. Interesting idea though. And for those of you who are thinking maybe you can do this for South World Cup Qualifiers, nope PPV is excluded content.
T-Mobile has launched the streaming service TVision. The Live package costs US$ 40 per month, and includes ABC, Fox, NBC, Telemundo, ESPN, ESPN2, Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2, NBCSN, USA Network, TNT and TBS.
So what happens to the current version of TVision? Not that it looks like it ever got many customers.
It'd be great if it had the regional FSN channels. The only streaming service to have them now is AT&T TV Now and at $80/mo.
The TVision Live TV+ pack includes select NBC Sports regional channels. It's unusual that those channels don't appear in the basic sports pack, unlike the other streaming services.
AT&T is killing off AT&T TV Now, formerly known as DirecTV Now. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/t-killing-off-t-tv-142838115.html No more contracts for new customers to AT&T TV and they're losing the requirement to use a box...which apparently wasn't a true requirement anyway. AT&T ships one receiver and voice remote to new customers, which they're required to ship back only if canceled during the money-back warrantee period. If canceled beyond that period, equipment may be kept by the customer, but the early termination fee applies. https://www.cnet.com/news/at-t-is-m...v-now-streaming-services-heres-what-it-means/ DirecTV: Rumored to be for sale and it appears AT&T will sell at a loss. U-Verse: No longer accepting new subscribers and the rumor here is that it could be sold with DirecTV. AT&T TV: Currently operating and accepting new subscribers. No contract necessary. AT&T TV Now: No longer accepting new subscribers. AT&T Watch TV: No longer accepting new subscribers, but is available to qualifying customers on AT&T Unlimited plans. Edit: Apparently the contract for AT&T TV is still an option if the customer wants the "Osprey" receiver box which is powered by Android. If the receiver is not desired, the TV service comes without a contract.
Dish and Sling will be dropping the remaining NBC RSNs on April 1. https://awfulannouncing.com/streaming/dish-sling-dropping-nbc-sports-rsns-on-april-1st.html
Sling TV won't have any regional sports networks. That's a price for keeping prices low. The company said they would love to offer those channels as standalone, but networks refuse to do that.
Ratings for the regional channels must be trash. If people want sports highlights, there's various talk shows and highlight shows across several channels of ESPN as well as FS1. What's on regional channels? It seems like live sports, call-in shows, college coaches shows and...a lot of hunting, fishing and poker stuff as time-filler. How many people are going to watch their local team's coach's show when FS1 and ESPN have their live shows at the same time? If you're a channel owner, you want it to go to as many people as possible. Option A: Everyone gets their regional channel(s) on a base tier. Sometimes, the option is there to pay more for additional channels. Option B: If you want your regional sports channels, pay the premium fee. However, you'd automatically get the others. Sling, and I'm guessing the other streaming services, want option B. Option B probably wouldn't change TV ratings that much. Which would make more money for Sinclair? With traditional services, you have a base tier, then several options of premium movie channels or maybe a sports tier (NFL RedZone, Fox Soccer Plus)...but with streaming services, there's no "expanded basic" tier. Maybe that's something they should consider. Sling kind of has that with their Orange and Blue packages (add both for a discount), but do the others? Hulu basic Hulu expanded...gotta have basic to get expanded. With these, you wouldn't need expanded: Hulu sports (FS+, RedZone) Hulu movies (TCM, FXM, IFC, Sundance)
Most NBA; MLB and NHL fans only care about their local team: ¿And most of their games air on the regional sports networks. In 2019, the St Louis Cardinals averaged a 6.6 rating locally, which is insane. https://www.thebiglead.com/posts/co...ss-dominance-compared-to-the-nba-01dwa6f4r11s https://awfulannouncing.com/mlb/mid...minate-mlb-rsn-ratings-largest-increases.html
Anyone have thoughts on what the best streaming deal might be to watch the Copa America & the Euros in June? I am a cord-cutter and I may be OK if Univision puts all of the matches on their OTA channels. The schedules seem to line up (footy from 9am to 11 pm straight!!!). But let's assume that I would need ESPN (for the Euros) and TUDN to get full coverage of both tournaments . Which streaming service would be the best/cheapest for a month's subscription? I don't assume there is any news on Copa America English rights yet?!?! I'm thinking Paramount would be a natural...
