Thought I'd start a thread to see how everybody is faring during these strange times. It would be great to see managers check in and let us know how they are managing/coping/surviving during the Covid 19 mess. Nothing political or controversial if possible. I am in a pseudo mountainous rural community along the edge of the Shenandoah valley in Virginia. Just my wife and I, both recently retired and not terribly upended by things. A lot of the folks in my community are just coming around to the protocols of social distancing (hate that term). Still hoping for some return of the EPL to finish this season but not holding my breath. Watching reruns of old matches and the 1 thousand greatest goals of all time is losing its appeal. Hope all is well with all of our managers and their friends and families. Cheers, Glorydaze
Plenty of time to rework my Blue Smoke and potions and voo-doo pin placement. All in all doing well We, New Mexico, are on stay at home, only essential businesses can stay open under strict regulations, shut down the ammo and liquor stores ,no gatherings of 5+ except for the thus created gatherings of dozens and dozens waiting in line at Grocery stores, coughing, spit-talking, sneezing etc in very brisk spring winds Weather has been great, spring time mostly Sunny, except for a cool day of snow yesterday. A lot more people jogging and walking of late, some better health may result as a plus to a the obvious negatives. My best to all.
Kansas City shutdown a while ago - trying to work from home while my wife does the same. Complicated by the 9 year old walking in on zoom meetings or my in-laws clattering around the kitchen like an old fashioned centre forward [emoji23]
Hi all , i hope you are all well ! Liverpool is in lockdown , but as a key worker (postman) i have to work , putting my life at risk delivering crap basically ! 24 case bottles of coke , vibrators , dresses (which no one can use), toilet brushes and oh yes the packs of toilet rolls that everyone is obsessed with ! It makes me laugh that there are rainbows in every window and messages to stay safe yet these people seem to spend all day on the internet ordering non-essential goods ! I have been using the free transfers as a wildcard , just hope we get this season finished. Speak soon - stay safe everyone !
While not currently in these leagues, I still keep up because I imagine a time in the future when I can come back to it. I'm not far from glorydaze in the mountains of far western Maryland. Similar to where he lives, this rural area reacted slowly to distancing, though I was personally watching the news and began refusing handshakes and engaged in some distancing a couple of weeks before others. As a college instructor, we've been shut down and shifted to online instruction. I'm pretty skilled with the tools of online, so that's going OK. Mostly, it's motivationally difficult because of the loss of visiting with colleagues and seeing students in person. Out of respect for postal workers, I'm avoiding ordering crap for delivery. We've managed to obtain some high quality industrial face masks, dang lucky because they are no findable now. Playing lots of online games. Healthy and fundamentally functioning OK. That's the goal, right? I hope all the acquaintances I've made here from around the world are doing well and are avoiding CoVid 19. Heard on a racing discussion forum: 'Our grandparents were asked to fight a war to save democracy from fascism. We are being asked to sit on our sofas to save our neighbor's lives. We can do this. '
Great idea for a thread. All is well at the Staying Home, Social Distancing Jones Family here in Virginia. Another idea may be to start an organizing thread for next season? (Always the optimist!)
FPL Site says: "As we look to complete the 2019/20 Premier League season, further updates on FPL will be provided when appropriate Related Articles At the meeting of Shareholders earlier this week clubs were united in looking to complete the 2019/20 season, but only when it is safe and appropriate to do so. We want to reassure FPL managers that we will provide further updates on the game when appropriate and we thank you for your continued patience. We can confirm that any chips you retain at present (e.g. Triple Captain, Bench Boost, Free Hit and/or Wildcard) would remain available for you, in accordance with the Game Rules. These are exceptional circumstances and we appreciate the understanding of FPL managers while the situation continues to evolve."
Reporting that both my wife and I had Covid. She seems all better. I'm not clear until this Thur. I had the complication of pneumonia and just got released from the hospital today after spending 9 days there. Great staff. They deserve all our thanks for what they have to put up with. So what's up with completing this Premierleague season? Anything brewing?
Oiiiii, Get and be well soon! Prayers and best wishes. Supposed to have a meeting of Clubs and PL on Thursday to discuss a reopening date and plans, rumors say they will be looking at 19th or 26th not 12th as earlier reported. Waiting for you to get in form I imagine.
In a statement released on Wednesday by the Premier League: "Premier League Shareholders today voted unanimously to resume contact training, marking another step towards restarting the Premier League season, when safe to do so. "Squads are now able to train as a group and engage in tackling while minimising any unnecessary close contact. "The Premier League’s priority is the health and wellbeing of all participants. "Strict medical protocols are in place to ensure the training ground is the safest environment possible and players and staff will continue to be tested for COVID-19 twice a week. "Stage Two of the Return to Training protocol has been agreed following consultation with clubs, players, managers, the PFA, LMA and the Government. "Discussions are ongoing as work continues towards resuming the season, when conditions allow." looking like 19th
