That article is purely speculative and has not much in substance.

That aside, the lack of explanation to the exclusion in the City game leaves the door open for this type of speculation.

Toni Kroos and his brother Felix have a podcast out, it's going to be updated biweekly. Just heard it during my workout. Can't wait till the next one. :)

You'll most likely hear the big quotes on the regular sources, AS and Marca, but he didn't say that much spicy stuff. Other than that his private football pitch is better than Ronaldo's, and that they live as next door neighbours. Jokes about him working out for an hour and Ronaldo staying at the gym for another three hours and that he shows less skin on instagram to which his brother answer "thank god". :D

They've got good brother chemistry, making fun of each other.

Obviously you can't tell 100% by public perception but Kroos seems to be a very very down to earth regular person. I would have to go back a lot of years to find a German player I liked this much.

Even the whole wage cut comments were taken completely wrong by people that went for his head instead of sitting down to talk with him. What he was talking about was "hey, we're giving up money but what happens with it? Where is it going to?". Players cutting their wages was being presented as a gesture of philanthropy, when they were basically just giving multi million institutions a break.

    Agree with this.

We always talk about role models in the game, to be honest I feel you’d struggle to find one better than him.

Perhaps coaching or front office work in his future?

I kind of doubt it, I think he'll move back to Germany when he retires but I sure hope he retires in a Real Madrid shirt as he often talked about.

Not many players retire at our club. Unless Toni is willing to retire at 33-34 i don't see it happening.

He has often said that he wants to retire at the end of his current contract with Madrid in 2023.

Toni Kroos outed himself as an absolute tennis fanatic in his podcast and called Roger Federer the greatest athlete of all time. Said he plays tennis on every training free day. Felix Kroos is a golfer, and has spends hundreds of hours watching and playing.

Their podcast is pretty interesting. Kroos said he's happy to not spend time with any Real Madrid players simply because they spend so much time together that it feels good to get a break from each other. He said that he spends time with Hazard because their sons are in the same school class and live across the street from each other so they see each other more because the kids often come to visit, but other than that he's happy to take a break from the team every now and then. He highlighted Joshua Kimmich as a good footballer/personal friend who he's happy to meet up with when they play for the national team.

Said that there are guys that go hard in celebrations on the team, but he himself doesn't enjoy alcohol.

He said he's played golf with Bale before :D

Called Ronaldo the best football player he's seen, but admitted a slight bias because of being a team mate. :D

By the way, quote of the week for me was, after tuning in to the phone call with his brother too late he said:

"20 minutes too late isn't late in Spain, its being on time" :D

By the way, something that I didn't mention is that every player weighed in after the lockdown and he was afraid he wouldn't make the cut.

Turns out he was at 6% body fat and fitter than he was before the season stopped. Despite eating "considerably worse" as he said. He also said he bought a punching bag and gave a go at boxing during the quarantine break, called it the most exhausting workout he's ever had.

By the way: they are taking questions for the podcast and I'm going to send in a question for the next one. I'm gonna let you guys know how that turned out.

I wonder if he'll become a coach, but I doubt he'll be able to do it in Spain - the players will riot because they have to be on time ;)

Man, trust me you get used to being on time so much in Germany, that you're usually early most of the times. Like, personally I always plan to be there 5 to 10 minutes before anything I plan at the least.

I write code (well I used to, now I mainly just tell people how to tune their code to work faster), and it is meeting after meeting, its all from home (I always worked from home), so the only reason anyone have to be late is the previous meeting took longer :)

6 % body fat, sure Hilarious that DEXA scans are so popular despite being wildly inaccurate. Nevertheless some entertaining info, thanks for translating.

Teams don't take these measurements to rank the results, rather than the consistency of them. As somebody that takes these tests regularly, i know that they don't stand the test in terms of how accurate they are, but considering that my results don't vary much, there is a benefit to them in terms of keeping up with how well you're maintaining.

When we talk about Toni as a footballer things thing that comes to mind is his passing and rightly so but his ability to create space for himself is just as world class, deadly first touch.
