With the new format to the 2022 qualifying for CONCACAF it should give Canada a chance but the Group Draw I mean it might not be kind to Canada

They don't cap-tie a player, but they do establish the association they are linked to and players are only allowed to change their association one time. See page 75-76 on the PDF linked below.

But if and this is only if Canada qualifies for 2022, it will give the national team more experience as a team especially when they do host it in 2026 with USA and Mexico...Canada will have a young team in 2022 but 2026 their team will be more mature by then

They have to start upping their game If they dont qualify know and start paving the way to their golden era that 2026 isnt gonna be much to them.

Jamaica, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama are all teams that have been improving and getting more potential upcoming players Concacaf is gonna become more and more competitive. Canada needs to prepare now and get at that level of competition now.

Exactly my point because Jamaica, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama and Trinidad are starting to catch up with CONCACAF getting highly competitive

Once everything is back to normal they needs to start scheduling friendlies and start arranging them with big teams. Belgium, France, Brazil, England Uruguay no more reoccurring friendlies with small teams. They need to go out their comfort zone. Because in a WC you will face these teams.

I was watching this specific YouTube video of "Top 10 Young Footballers In the World 2020" and the list is as follows:

10- Ansu Fati (Spanish) (Barcelona) (17 years old)

9- Alphonso Davies(Canadian) (Bayern Munich) (19 years old)

8- Rodrygo (Brazilian) (Real Madrid) (19 years old)

7- Matthijs De Ligt (Dutch) (Juventus) (21 years old)

6- Federico Valverde (Uruguayan) (Real Madrid) (21 years old)

5- Martin Odegaard (Norwegian) (Real Sociedad) (21 years old)

4- Erling Haaland (Norwegian) (Borussia Dortmund) (19 years old)

3- Jadon Sancho (English) (Borussia Dortmund) (19 years old)

2- Trent Alexander Arnold (English) (Liverpool) (21 years old)

1- Kylian Mbappe (French) (PSG) (21 years old)

Just to even see Alphonso mentioned in the same breath as these guys or for him to be considered one of the top young guys in the world being a Canadian...it just really is an honor

Alphonso Davies is officially a Bundesliga champion now...so damn proud of him winning the Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich...that is 8 consecutive titles for Bayern Munich now as a club in the Bundesliga. Now if Alphonso can win the UEFA Champions League title with Bayern Munich, he would be a shoe in for that Golden Boy award.

    https://www.fifa.com/news/benzema-overtakes-puskas--lewandowski-closing-in-on-mulle-3074776 says:

"Flying Canadian winger Alphonso Davies has set a new Bundesliga record, having been clocked at 36.51 km/h in Bayern’s match against Werder Bremen. Last weekend also saw him pick up the 'Bundesliga Rookie of the Season' award, so it was a double cause for celebration for the teen sensation."

1 kilometer = 0.62137 miles, so he ran about 22.89 miles per hour.

Canada don't get me wrong are talented. They are. I don't take that away from Canada but look at where that talent has gotten them though? I mean Canada always look to be on the rise but for some reason they disappoint time and time again. I mean I really want to see Canada qualify for Qatar 2022 but being realistic it probably won't happen. 2026 obviously will be Canada's time to shine being one of the 3 hosts for the 2026 FIFA World Cup here in Canada but also in USA and Mexico. But then again come 2026, Canada is going to have pressure put upon them as hosts to not only advance from the group stage but to get into the knockout stage as well. But in order for Canada especially the Men's program in order for them to become a power in CONCACAF, more of their players are going to have to start playing abroad not just in the MLS but also in Europe. But also Canada is going to have to start developing more superstars besides Davies and David to stand any chance in 2026. But in 2022 however Canada what they need to do is not only be an offensive, attack minded side but focus more on being defensive too.

Well the plan for Canada would be to qualify first most teams when they qualify for the first time have a majority of their players playing in their local league. After that they really start playing aboard and then it catapults them into a golden era.

I wouldnt be to crazy about emphasizing producing World class players because alot of teams are full of world class players and it doesnt get them far alot of the time. For now they need proper coaching and a coach who can make a competitive squad with what they have.

That what the case for every Under dog team. Go through that learning phase and qualify then comes the golden era and you try to keep elevating the level of soccer. Thats why this wc and next are so important for them.

I wouldnt say that TBH. They did the right move recently by forming the Canadian PL now those teams can play Concacaf cups develop youth league players and now maybe finally have some depth and more talent on a NT. Once that league grows more and more they will start having a better NT and more players aboard.

I will say that I wouldn't mind going through qualifiers with no fans. Be great to play in Honduras or Mexico without bags of piss being thrown at the players.

It would take pressure off in away games for underdog teams. I know when Brazil plays at home it the most intimidating match ever they are at a supper advantage with all their fans in the stadium.

Exactly so Canada playing its home or away games without fans in a way would be easier

Details of this year's event. Big difference is this year it will be held On-line on Sunday August 30th. Free registration.

This is only their second one. They held one in 2018 in Downsview (Toronto). It was supposed to be annual but they never held one in 2019.

I remember their 'next' one was supposed to be in Calgary but that never came about for 2019.

2018 event is recapped at their site. CWNT and CMNT players were there. CPL representation (one year before the league kicked off!). TFC and Impact players there (as they'd played at BMO the night before). http://www.rocketrobinsoccerintoronto.com/reports18/18l1o202.htm

Well since it's being held online, it should be easy to get players as they'll be zooming from their living rooms. This may be the one year they can get the best of them all at the same time/place!

I expect they'll be a few minutes with each star where all people see the same person at once....whereas the live show you could wander between booths except the seminars where certain stars were in a stage show setting.
