Thanks. So the Gs should have him thru the season if there is one.

I'm assuming the price of all players is going to drop. Since we're locked into the buy price with Pavon, we'd need to at least indicate that we're going to not buy him in order to get a lower price. That said, we may not buy anyone for a year or two, the way revenue is going.

Eastern Europeans (I’m guessing his girl is from there) are amongst the most racist people. That’s some disgraceful stuff there.

Hope the Galaxy cut him loose. Unlike Allesandrini, Katai doesn’t seem to understand LA, the people who live here, or the culture of our many neighborhoods.

So this is him or his wife (or both) making these comments? I’m a little unclear here.

His wife made the disgusting posts. He has released a statement although he clearly didn't write it himself and had help.

I don't know. Of course if he endorsed Tea's posts, bye bye

But assume for a moment he does not endorse the posts. Assume for a moment that he is horrified by what she said.

What's he supposed to do, file for divorce?

And isn't holding him responsible for what she did sort of sexist? It assumes he controls his wife and she can't actually have opinions of her own (no matter how repugnant.) Unless he is implicated in what she did, canning him for her comments is pointless virtue signalling.

Have to admit I haven't followed this closely and if he can be tied to her comments, I would agree he's gone. But there is something misguided about punishing him for what she did.

And I don't think she embarrassed LAG. She embarrassed herself. period.

    New forum tagline?

Regarding Katai, he shouldn't be responsible for her actions and don't think the Galaxy need to apologize either, though I understand why they're doing so from a PR standpoint. Also, don't think Katai should be made to apologize.

This is a very tough situation because it wasn't our player who made that comment. I am sure Katai is very unhappy with his wife after these comments regardless if he secretly harbors those thoughts as well (speculation not fact).

Regardless, I don't think it's fair for his career with us to be cut short because of his wife's comments even if those comments were disturbing. I think Katai should have the opportunity to make this right.

Sickening comments, but I too find guilt by association shouldn't be grounds for termination.

And this right here is why systemic racism is insidious on so many levels. Because attempts to dismantle it can throw shrapnel that harm innocent bystanders. When you’ve had your sons and brothers and nephews and grandsons killed and incarcerated simply because of the color of their skin, you don’t really care if the person who posted a “Black Nikes Matter” meme and said that you are “shits” who should be summarily killed is an actual player on the team or just affiliated with the team, you are sick and tired of the bullshit and want it eradicated, even if it hurts someone who is only tangentially involved.

I personally agree that the sins of the spouse (or other family member) shouldn’t have repercussions on the potentially innocent individual, but I can also understand why so many people don’t give a shit and just want her removed from any association with the team, even if that requires removing her husband as well.

To be (potentially) fair to him, I have no idea how strong his grasp of the written English language.

This is a tough situation given it was not his comments. I do wonder the extent of the Galaxy background/character work done on potential signings. Some Chicago people have been coming out of the woodwork to say unflattering things about his time there but who know if they are being honest.

Good point. Often your written abilities in a second language outpace your spoken ability. But it still reeks of careful composition with help from the Galaxy PR department. Not that that’s necessarily a bad thing.
