    ---------------------

If you're white and you're fit enough and you can afford it, your ass better go out on the street and support the peaceful protests. At least the part before the curfew.

I know it's a bit "dangerous" but we need to step out of our comfort zone. Black people live outside the comfort zone pretty much full time in America.

Complete war zone in St. Louis. Terrorist elements attacking police. Full blown gun battle.

Cops are losing it. Assaulting a senior with a cane standing on his own.

They used a MEDEVAC helicopter over DC last night to disperse protesters. It even bears the Red Cross. I'm sure some higher up in the national guard knows that this is a violation of the Geneva Convention.

OTOH - one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter

  8. How can the Insane idiot threaten to deploy armed forces in states?
He needs permission from the governors of the states.
Or is it a coup d'État?

Kinda amazing how we went from "You can't keep us contained to our houses!" to "If you're not obeying curfew, you deserved to get gassed!" pretty f*cking quickly.

    Oh you sweet summer child....

Aside from the last two decades of police force militarization, people think that that this escalation is the first time the military has been called out on the general population since I dunno, Kent State or something, but they choose to look the other way when it's Wounded Knee or Standing Rock...

    Yes!!!

“In an official statement, Arlington officials explained, “At the direction of the County Board, County Manager and Police Chief, all ACPD officers left the District of Columbia at 8:30 tonight. The County is re-evaluating the agreements that allowed our officers to be put in a compromising position that endangered their health and safety, and that of the people around them, for a purpose not worthy of our mutual aid obligations.”

Even at our most organized, we don’t protest like they do in Europe or Asia.

Putting aside that the use of the NG and air support is horrifying as a veteran of Panama and the first Gulf War I’ll be the first to admit that I was wrong that our country wouldn’t come to this but as sad a reality as it is, no violation of the Geneva Convention occurred. Perhaps that should and will change but it’s not.

I’d urge anyone presenting what they believe to be fact from Twitter to be wary and patient. As fluid as events are, not everything is always as it seems.

Maybe I watch too many action movies, but could someone take a potshot at a pilot flying that low? Citizens may regard a copter that low as an attack

For me....these photos of cops kneeling with protesters is disingenuous AF

10 minutes later they are clubbing and tear gassing them

Absolutely and just as dangerous is the use of green lasers. The latter is being encouraged on Twitter which is frightening.

Once people realized that they have very little to look forward to, to live for, other than to be forced back to the status quo of "order", the improbable & the impossible become necessary to survive
