Koln making mini waves as they buy the blond striker, Mandy Islacker from Bayern Munich. 1. FC Cologne | FC women sign Islacker Koln also bought Kayicki & Starke from Friburg. So definitely, a pretty good front line for next season worried that richer clubs are going to raid Hoffenheim after their strong season; their loosing one player...........but to American college as starting right fullback, Sarai Linder, signs to go to U of Central Florida
public college suppose to be free in Germany, but there's been some good players that have gone the American college rout recently---Lena Petermann, Laura Petermann & youth intl. Klara Ker. But they all went when they were about 18 years old. What's a bit peculiar of Sarai is she's 20, a top player & starter for an Div 1, top 3 in the league(but non salaried), yet willing to take what certainly got to be a step down(as UCF is not even ranked in the NCAA top 25) and give up an potential chance to make it on the NT. but then German females mostly likely want a strong education over an athletic career where like in woso, doubt if the average pro makes even $50K an year take it this is why the one girl Ive been hyping as potentially as one Germnay's best players ever, Tabea Wassmuth> she graduated last year from the U of Mainz, with an bachleor's degree in psycholgy while still playing fulltime at HOF & probably still studying for an masters, so she might be to busy to play for the NT too
The restart on May 29th with the game Wolfsburg-Köln is officially confirmed. https://www.dfb.de/en/news/detail/f...ache=1&cHash=eb3c92af5b73648542e7be0761d328fb https://www.dfb.de/en/leagues/women...n/competitions/14/seasons/current/matchday/17
another big transfer news; German NT's #1 goalkeeper, Merle Frohms is moving from Freiburg to Frankfurt. This would mean the 4th confirmed player leaving Freiburg, Don't know what happened to them, but willing to bet they'll bw in relegation zone by the end of next season
It`s not really new. You talked about it yourself one month ago. Concerning relegation next season we will have more obvious candidates than Freiburg. The 2.Bundesliga will likely be cancelled with two teams promoted and no team relegated. The promoted teams would be Werder Bremen and SV Meppen. https://www.dfb.de/2-frauen-bundesliga/spieltagtabelle/?no_cache=1 I expect Meppen to have a similar fate as Mönchengladbach who ended last season with only one point. Bremen should fight against relegation with Leverkusen and Duisburg. If Köln can avoid relegation this season they should be better next season and reach the level of Sand and Freiburg.
Lohmann; what’s the story I’m hearing now? All the teams are on a 7 day required quarantine before next week’s opening ? Thus quite a few players, coaches & staff can’t make it/in fact, at least one club(Jena)is forfeiting
DFB has a Hygiene concept for the Frauen-Bundesliga that is similar to the concept for 1. and 2.Bundesliga in men`s football. All teams should have a 7 day quarantine camp before their first game. The problem in women`s football is that not all players or coaches are professionals. Some of them have a job and have to take holidays. If they can`t attend the quarantine camp they will not be in the team for their first game. The quarantine camp is only before the first game so that it will be possible for these players to play in the following games if they have two successive negative coronavirus tests. The biggest problem with this quarantine rule should have the 2.Bundesliga clubs that are still in the DFB-Pokal (Bielefeld and Gütersloh). The problem with Jena is that Thuringia don`t allow team training or sport events until June 5th. There are big controversies between DFB and clubs from Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt especially concerning 3.Liga (men). Teams like Magdeburg, Halle and Jena want the DFB to cancel the season without any team relegated. They argue that they would have an unfair disadvantage if they have to play their games without having at least 2 weeks team training before their first game. DFB wants to finish the season in June to avoid problems with player contracts that end in June. Because of the problem with the disallowed team training USV Jena will restart the season on June 7th and have to play 7 games in 21 days. Bizarre is that Thuringia has now said that they want to lift all coronavirus restrictions on June 6th.
Does get complicated. Promotion relegation, end of player contracts before seasons over, virus still dangerous, not making money, playing so many games in 3 weeks on top of not being in match fitness, etc.
To be correct Jena has 7 games in 22 days. 7.6 Freiburg(H) 10.6 Köln(A) 14.6 Bayern(A) 17.6 Leverkusen(H) 21.6 Sand(A) 24.6 Essen(A) 28.6 Duisburg(H)
from info I've read; shame that the HOF coach will not be able to make it for what probably would of been the most important match of his life; this Saturday's game vs Bayern Munich, since he's a teacher & can't get off this week for the required one week quarantine. next Tuesday will be the quarter finals of the German Cup, so how well conditioned these players are to play 2 games 3 days apart will be an extra factor FC Koln was originally the one club that voted NOT to continue the season, which is odd cuz as is, they would of been demoted cuz of their 11th place current standing, Yet it's one of the clubs thats flexing it's buying power for next season with the purchase of Islacker, Lotzen & Beck, to go along with what should of been a decent, current lineup of fringe of NT players like Lindon, Tiegte, Nietgen & Beckman USV Jena might cancel their season, but currently in last place with just 2 points, were most likely to get demoted anyways Eintracht Frankfurt(which announced that it will spend extra money on it's woso program) will just combine with FFC Frankfurt(which answer's one of my question on how they were going to play in the Bundi) into one team that seems to have a birght future since their getting GK Frohms & hopefully goal scorers Freigang & Martinez can only get better as they grow into maturity
Teachers who belong to a risk group aren`t allowed to teach in schools in Baden-Württemberg and teachers that are 60 years or older can decide themselves if they go to school or stay at home. Ehrmann is a teacher at a vocational school where they will be exams soon and he is 59 years old. Köln likely thought that if they cancel the season there will be no relegation and the Bundesliga plays next season with 14 teams. I had answered your question concerning Eintracht Frankfurt last month.
Congratulation to Werder Bremen and SV Meppen DFB has officially cancelled 2.Bundesliga. No team will be relegated but 5 teams will be promoted from the Regionalliga. Normally only 3 teams would have been promoted but the Promotion play-offs are also cancelled.
DFB-Pokal semi-final draw: Winner of Bielefeld/Sand against winner of Gütersloh/Wolfsburg Winner of Leverkusen/Hoffenheim against winner of Potsdam/Essen I hope for a Bielefeld-Gütersloh semi-final.
USV Jena will play next season as Carl Zeiss Jena. The men`s team of Carl Zeiss is in last place in the 3.Liga. Sounds like two drowning people hugging.
17th match week, 2019/20 Fri 29 May - 12.00 GMT / 14.00 CET - Wolfsburg - FC Köln (DFB TV) Fri 29 May - 17.15 GMT / 19.15 CET - Frankfurt - SC Sand (Eurosport/Magenta) Sat 30 May - 11.00 GMT / 13.00 CET - Bayern Munich - Hoffenheim (Sportschau/BR24, Viaplay, BBC Alba) Sat 30 May - 11.00 GMT / 13.00 CET - Freiburg - Turbine Potsdam (Magenta, Viaplay) Sat 30 May - 12:00 GMT / 14:00 CET - Leverkusen - Duisburg (DFB TV) I dunno whether the ARD/Sportschau will geoblock Bayern-Hoffenheim - its policy on showing TV overseas seems stricter now. Couple of years ago they allowed this one:
Wolfsburg-Köln 4:0(2:0) Harder(33p,78),Huth(45),Popp(65) Frankfurt-Sand 3:1(2:1) Nüsken(9),Freigang(37),Dunst(76) - Blagojevic(5)
Hoffeheim's biggest game of their lives, but from what I read; not only the coach isn't going to be there, but 3 of their top players as well: Wassmuth, Rall & Lattwein are not going to be there either cuz of college exam finals. How can woso ever take itself serious anymore? btw....new rules too, apparently 5 subs allowed, which didn't help SC Sand in their game; they only had 3 subs on the entire bench!
Just read, the HOF players got an last moment extension to take their final exams. It would of really be something if they would of missed a chance of a lifetime to make the it into The CL. Now hopping we can watch this game as Magenta is usually an paid subscription channel
Not sure, I would hope it's been a few weeks together... Bayern v Hoffenheim has begun - the BR livestream has no geoblock here. 0-0 after 13 mins. Later today, they say the highlights will be on the Sportschau. https://www.sportschau.de/fussball/frauenfussball/index.html
0-0 halftime, HOF's more than holding it's own. but a lot of rustines on how on earth did they miss an open net from 15 yards out? Look for Bayern to take charge in the 2nd half as right now they got an all German NT lineup(minus Wenninger) & they still got Leupolz & Laudehr sitting on the bench as well as Bereensteyn. Meantime most active for HOF been their seldom used youth player named Kulenbel?(misspell) I believe they do allow up to 5 subs for the game
