YouTube has plenty of videos of people speaking Spanish, Italian and Portuguese and understanding each other. I guess in a way those three should be considered, more than languages, dialects of Modern Latin.

Claudio's Spanish is, of course, flawless. But Gio doesn't speak it, at least not in public. And he may not understand it either, 1:26:

That’s pretty funny. “Um...translate?” Seemed like he understood a little but not much.

    My prescription:

    Rest @ Wolfsburg tomorrow.

Sub in and assist on game-winning goal v Bayern on Tuesday.

Start and score at Paderborn on Sunday (31st).

I bet he comes off the bench against Wolfsburg. I wouldn’t mind if they saved him for Bayern in case tomorrow would be rushing him back from his injury.

3 days difference isn’t much, but could be enough to prevent the re-injuries we’ve seen too often over the last couple years. Eg. Adams

Very glad I can sleep in tomorrow and catch the last 20' at a reasonable time. 6:30 am (pst) kickoffs after months of starting work > 9 am was rough last weekend, especially with the empty stadium and general soullessness of it all. Only tuning in to watch our guys basically

I'd say it seems like he doesn't understand it, at least not a fast-speaking Peruvian.

Hope some MLS teams come in for him. Maybe he should look to La Liga, may be a good fit for Gotze.

He's an athlete, and as life peaks go that's a relatively high one. Few lives end after a steady climb to the summit.
