17th June is getting very tight for trying to get my hotel bookings postponed till next year. They're non refundable but was hoping they would be reasonable about it if I gave them new dates. It's quite likely they won't have the schedule worked out until a while after then anyway. Flights shouldn't be a problem as I'm expecting open ended vouchers.
It sucks for all who bought tickets to EURO which include hotel accommodations and it is non refundable so basically everyone loses money not just on tickets themselves but also on accommodations too...no way UEFA can compensate all the thousands or millions of fans can they? Unless they can
Have I missed a memo? Is 17th June the date they're announcing the new fixtures? If it's that late I'm going to have to get a refund on one of my hotel room bookings and hope I can find another room later on.
Yeah, and it can be especially difficult if you are going to any of those potential not going to hold it now cities. That's the issue I may have with flights as I have tickets for only two locations that have definitely confirmed of hosting out of my six venues.
Looks like Amsterdam and London are 2 of the 3 "problem" cities. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/...as-venue-for-re-scheduled-euro-2020-mf7nltmx2
Looks like it's more a matter of getting the paper work done than threats of pulling out. P.S. Bucharest have confirmed.
I wouldn't think so either, but UEFA put out a statement today to address the Times article and didn't deny it. Didn't really say anything in the statement, but it was very odd.
This boy thinks Amsterdam and Copenhagen are doubtful, might be nonsense. https://extra.ie/2020/05/20/sport/soccernews/ireland-extra-euro-2020-hosts
But lets be honest, the whole concept of a cross-continental tournament is in jeopardy. Its probably just smarter at this point to plan for a single host country, or at most a group of neighboring countries (like England-Scotland or Spain-Portugal). I'd like to think things will be a lot closer to normalcy a year from now, but the fact is we don't know that for sure and a decision on hosts needs to be taken fairly soon.
I'm getting more optimistic that things will be back to normal. Countries like Denmark and Austria have seen none of the expected increase in transmission after relaxing the lockdown rules a month ago. Could be that the virulence is decreasing and it will eventually wither away.
Not sure about Austria, but Denmark only fully reopened May 7 (they did some reopening a month ago, but think it was mainly just schools and daycare centers, and kids are not the ones likely to get sick or tested). Don't think enough time has passed since the looser restriction phase started on May 7 to assess (just 2 weeks).
Saw an article from a global entertainment venue organization saying that only 2 cities remain in question, London and Amsterdam, and both have conflicts for stadiums with scheduled concerts which is why stadiums are seeking government financial guarantees for any fallout from forced concert cancellations. May be just a rumor, but along the same lines as the Times article.
Troll because you have made five posts on five different threads and none of which have any relevance to anything previously posted.
All tickets on my profile have changed their status. "Your ticket has been returned" it says now under every single one of them. Let the refund begin!
Same here, also received an email with following: "Your UEFA EURO 2020™ ticket return request has been received. The refund process will start as soon as possible and may take until the end of June 2020 at the latest to complete. Your refund will be made to the same credit card you used to purchase your tickets and not into your bank account. Once your refund has been processed, you will receive confirmation via email"
Had an email yesterday saying my refund was successful. ‘We have successfully initiated the refund process of 390.00 EUR to the credit card that you used when you purchased your tickets. Depending on your card and your bank, the funds may take a few days to be booked on your credit card.’ Wasn’t expecting that so quickly, so that’s a pleasant surprise. Hopefully goes through no issues and I get it in the next few days - hope those waiting get similar soon.
To anyone interested and waiting, it’s literally just hit my account - and due to the current exchange rate, plus the card I used, I ended up getting a refund of £23 more than I originally paid for them. No complaints from me.
Talk to the hotels directly - if you've booked through an agent many of them will just spout the non refundable T&C's however contact the hotels themselves and many understand and even though non-changeable have given me voucher / free change of date for a year. Be nice and don't demand, just ask nicely.
Thanks for the advice, here's hoping! Hallo I apologise for writing in English. I booked this stay in your hotel as part of a trip to see a couple of Euro 2020 football games, one in Budapest and one in Munich. As you probably know Euro 2020 has been postponed till 2021, and on top of that my flights have been cancelled, so there is no way for me to arrive on these dates. Might it be possible to postpone my stay? The football dates have not as yet been confirmed but they are likely to be close to the same dates, but one year later, so early July 2021. I would be very grateful for any help in this matter. Viele Grüße Kenneth P.S. Quick reply, looks like a bit of haggling will be required, or a change in plans. thank you for your e-mail and reservation in our Hotel. We are sorry to hear about the cancellation and we understand that you need to modify or cancel due the postponement of the Euro 2020.
