Jazzy I wasn’t talking about one single study, but either way I don’t think it’s super relevant to the overall point. Anyways... I see your objection, and agree the nitty gritty of the numbers themselves are always going to rely on those very specific definitions which can vary wildly to suit a number of agendas.

But I’m happy to retract the “factor of 20” comment.

Oh STFU with your "carnal knowledge" shit . Consent is revocable at all times. Even if the woman was paid.

And "life as you know it" isn't going to die if this virus doesn't confer immunity. It just means we don't know enough yet to give anyone the benefit of the doubt when they break quarantine rules because they can still pass it to others if reinfection is a possibility. Lots of viruses out there that don't confer immunity when they infect someone w/ low viral loads.

Fair enough. I raise the issue because I know the "results" of these studies get often used to justify actual criminal law and civil penalties. And so I feel compelled to note they are not based on good science. After all, I heard the left was the party of science.

Yeah, that’s a fine thing to keep in check.

I am not going to comment on any of your content because I already said all I have to say about it, but you need to grow up a little bit. This isn't a cesspool like PC&E and you cannot talk to people like that. Play the ball not the man. You are free to disagree and free to post a point, but we don't do personal attacks here.

Sorry, I won't stand for anyone trying to justify rape through slut shaming or pushing dangerous pseudoscience. A woman showing up at a man's house in lingerie is not consent.

Fair enough and I won't stand for convicting somebody without due process.

I wasn't pushing a damned thing even remotely scientific, but if getting it doesn't make one immune at all then there isn't much hope.

I just haven't seen you here much and wanted to let you know the decorum in different here than there.

Scientifically speaking, that was most likely due to the poor performance of the testing methods available currently. The ability of the current testing instruments to both rule in an infection when it is present and rule out an infection when it is absent, and vice versa, is appalling for many of the commercial lab tests.

It is possible that this virus is acting in a way different than all the other viruses have ever acted, but it is much less likely than poor testing instruments.

I think this would be a fascinating discussion as what you are describing is impacting every professional sector. While I know for a fact that it is the pendulum swinging to the other side from what it was before where male bosses treated female employees or colleagues poorly in many aspects, the reaction to that is having some negative consequences. Probably unavoidable and necessary to correct the actions of some men, but it's definitely changing how people interact, and causing the loss of some level of mentor-ship between men and women.

Couldn't find any details on the Giroud deal, was it short term to cover the rest of this summer; or did they offer Giroud multi years deal? If it's the latter, then it seems Chelsea might not be targeting a striker this transfer window.

So it's performance evaluation period where I work. I supervise a buncha folks and really they're delightful people but it doesn't matter: everybody gets anxious and HR makes these weird-ass deadlines and shit and it's just horrible. Doing it all virtually now makes no difference. This is always the time of year where I wake up at 3:40 AM and spend an hour wishing a huge chunk of my life away to that I can actually be at the point where I can retire and be done with it for good. There is very little in the normal world (I'm excluding the actual horrors of life) that I find worse.

This shit here comes close though. We finally get some soccer to talk about and people go tapioca flexing about the pandemic. And believe me I have some profound damn opinions about the current state of affairs, but I'll spare you those in this thread, even though my opinions are absolutely correct, because that's the kind of guy I am.

Y'all need to be like me, This here thread is now quarantined from covid discussions unless somebody who wears shorts and shirt with the word "Chelsea" on it for a living catches it and then you're allowed to say some very limited things, staring with "oh no, I hope they get better very soon".

I'll get in to this thread over the weekend and delete all the argument but please make a hard stop here. If it continues beyond this point I'm going to thread ban the person(s) who take it there until I've had a chance to clean up the mess. I love you folks, but...jeekers.

Frank Lampard praised for his handling of Christian Pulisic at Chelsea FC

Brian McBride heaps praise on Frank Lampard for the way he has managed Christian Pulisic at Chelsea FC this season

“Christian’s moved over to a new country, joined a new team and had to establish himself in a new league. There could have been the pressure there on him to deliver straightaway but Frank understood that he needed to have time to adapt.

“So, from a US national team perspective, that was really nice to see. We don’t know what was happening behind-the-scenes at the club and how hands on that would have been, but it allowed time for Christian to settle in, adapt and integrate into the team."
