If people get sick they will be sued into oblivion.

Huge gamble from an addict. If it blows up he could tank his organization.

The drooling desperation that people are showing during these times -> shocking but not surprising. I'm still laughing at this part of the proposal to play the baseball season in Arizona: "The plan could include teams carrying significantly expanded rosters to account for the possibility of players testing positive despite the isolation".

There's another one that dropped dead. Good thing for those expanded rosters!

FFS! Do these people hear themselves?

For him personally, it's not about money. He is de-risked and already set for life. It's really about ego and his own personality of never giving up and finding a way. It's a good trait in business, but at some point you need to have common sense. His bosses however that's a different story. They spent a lot of money to buy the UFC. ESPN also.

He really thinks he is a leader for doing this. When asked if fighters and personnel would be tested for CV to make sure everyone is safe he literally didn't give a straight answer and just said that they are going above and beyond with respect to health safety and that's how they always operated. So basically that's a no OR most likely he doesn't want the bad publicity for wasting test kits reasons for something that is not necessary right now.

I know Dana White and his mentality, it's not about how much he has, it's about how much more he can have. He's as greedy as the worst of them.

With that said, i think he does a good job, i'm just not sure if having fights on right now is a good idea. If you have 5 fights per event, that's 10 fighters, each with 4-5 additional staff (coaches etc) that's 50 people. Add the judges, referees, commission, commentators, medics and you get 100 people in that arena. Also, do the island have hospitals? If they do then they are already at risk of COVID-19, if they don't, where will the injured fighters go after the fight? As for testing, they've let fighters fight with staph infections and Dana has been pretty mad at both fighters and doctors when they stopped fights or prevented them from happening, so i don't think he gives a crap about coronavirus.

Dana saw an opportunity and he's willing to risk people's health for that.

I still think it's more about being able to say I did it ... I made it happen. The guy doesn't have to worry about money. It's just a challenge for him but he is not considering others.

I was wondering the same thing about a hospital.

The US state of Georgia - I believe the last big/populous state to go on lockdown - just saw a 10 fold increase in # of deaths in a 24-hour period, from 10 on Sunday to 100 Monday.

Laschet, a prime minister in Germany and election candidate hopeful spoke of "approaching the return to normality" today. There's a clear divide between those that think we've done enough already and those that believe we're still at the early stages of this.

Its all just meaningless blabber until he sets a date for that return to normality and sticks to it. Heard the same thing from bawbag Trump about opening on Easter. Now 2 days from Easter the US just had its deadliest day by far (not that he even has the power to open up shit, but whatever).

Right-leaning politicians for some reason want to give people false hope. Guess they think it makes them look ambitious and concerned about the economy. Personally, I feel that continually telling people for 3 months that everything will be normal in 2 weeks will just make the lockdown seem endless.

This  made it seem like some sort of victory for you.

I don't want anyone to suffer, although I take small joys seeing those who mocked this pandemic, belittled it or chose greed and selfish desires of human life getting small doses.

Roncero attacked Kroos, but the truth is Kroos is right.

Roncero is imbecile. Kroos said it perfectly. Especially in case of Barcelona. Players subsidizing Barto corruption, instead of donating that cash to the people.

I understand Kroos’ skepticism about a wage cut due to the fact that we are a very wealthy club and a wage cut is no guarantee that those funds will go directly to the non-playing staff.

However, if the club is currently paying both the players and non-playing staff in full, then there is no need for player donations. Hence, wage cuts are indeed about the sustainability of the club.

That's what Kroos said. Basically the players are giving money to the club. It's not about doing something positive.

70% cut is absolutely abnornal. It has nothing to do with financing non-playing staff.
    Absolutely ridiculous.

Barca applied for ERTE though, so they are basically playing by the book. That's how it works. That's why Madrid didn't want to apply for it, because the cuts are massive.

It is because their finances are absolute mess. This is all about Saving Private Bartomeu.

For example with 1M euro donation, i can cover 3k gross wages for nearly 30 people for entire year.

The ERTE applies to the entire club. Barca simply pays less to everybody.

@Umar already said that if Liverpool would have applied for furlough for the entire club, the cuts for the players would have been drastic as well.
