A small paycut (10% or 20%) would put us in an ever better position without hurting the players and their (probably) expensive lifestyle.
In 18/19 we spent 52% of operating income on personnel expenses. Plus EBITDA and cash / cash equivalents for mid 2019 were peachy. It seems we are financially strong. As such, why cut wages when we don`t need to? If anything i rather see players donating cash as result.
Because we don't know how long this is gonna go on and how will it affect the economy. It's the wrong time to flex our big financial dick .

No decision at this point has been made without substantial financial projections for months. Flo already has the data. If we are financially sound, i like that we are respecting contractual obligations. It shows class and responsibility. Meanwhile, players can use their income to help vulnerable parts of society. Club also.
Angel Di Maria on receiving a letter from Real Madrid telling him to miss the 2014 World Cup final."My leg wasn't right but I wanted to play, I didn't care if I never played football again. Kaka did the same thing in 2010. A club didn't tell him that though. A doctor in Sao Paulo told him the same thing.
Giroud was the first player to openly support the Benzema national team ban, saying Benzema can "pollute the team spirit" and has been quietly chipping away since then (4 years now).

Maybe he was right and that’s the unknown reason why DD continues to not select Benz, I have no idea, but it’s not like Benz has some astronomical numbers for France that means he should be an automatic selection anyway, when it comes to “numbers” for the national team, a criteria which is what seems to cement Benz’s “legendary” status for us the two of them are pretty much the same old same old, and I’m no fan of the donkey that is Giroud
Again, Benzema has spent most of his prime banned from the national team. Hardly a fair comparison. It's like comparing 20 year old Cristiano Ronaldo to a 30 year old Cavani.
Can’t say I agree, in those “prime” years Benz has gotten over twenty goals in a season only ..... once, after having watched him be a dud for nearly a year at international level where , like right now he couldn’t seem to find where the goal is at all, plus his league numbers I cannot honestly say he would have been any better at National level in these past 4 years, probably would have been about the same , which isn’t particularly exceptional but, I’m guessing just like you so, to each his own.
Giroud has been scoring single digits for years. His personal best is something around 15 goals. There's really zero comparison between the two players.
pic.twitter.com/TkolgQP9pN— Luis Suárez (@LuisSuarez9) March 30, 2020 Cryptic messaging from the Barcelona players. Some interesting quotes: "We have always been willing to take a pay cut given the exceptional circumstances and we have always helped the club when asked and from our own initiative" "It never ceases to surprise us that there are those from within the club that try to put us under the magnifying glass and put pressure on us" They are taking a 70% pay cut
An ERTE means they are taking a paycut whether they like it or not. My father went through 1,5 years of that system during the last crisis in 2008.
