The Bernabeu match where he absolutely shut down Eto'o was Pepe's introduction to the world stage. it's unfortunate the defending highlights don't "sell", seems pretty difficult to find highlights of defenders from a particular match from back then.

Sergio Ramos is only TWO goals away from becoming the highest scoring CB in La Liga history.1- Ronald Koeman : 672-SERGIO RAMOS : 663- Fernando Hierro : 514- Roberto Carlos : 465 - Jose ‘Pirri’ : 45 Happy birthday 🤴. pic.twitter.com/hpc81zeDMs— Jeff (@JdristaJr) March 30, 2020 He needs to set that record! Happy Birthday to the goat cb
The 4-1 game? I dont remember much on the defensive side but that one was magic too. Pipita had tons of memorable goals back then too, against Espanyol, Osasuna and Getafe.

I can't stand these barca cocksuckers Ajax. Especially those cringe Cruyff stans. Ramos is bigger than your entire club history including Cruyff.
The five-day negotiations that led to Real Madrid's pay cuts Ramos led the way and then others followed. To start with, there were various viewpoints put across by different members of the squad in group discussion via video link. Not everyone agreed at first, with some asking for those figures to be dropped to five percent. Then Ramos intervened and, supported by Zinedine Zidane and the likes of Karim Benzema, Luka Modric, Thibaut Courtois, Lucas Vazquez and Fede Valverde, the defender persuaded the entire squad to take a 10 percent pay cut - or 20 percent if the season doesn't restart. https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2020/04/08/5e8e3fb322601d0c7a8b4618.html
MARCA: Most red cards in Real Madrid history...20 Ramos10 Hierro7 Hugo Sanchez7 Guti5 Salgado5 Roberto Carlos5 Manolo SanchisLike my grandpapi always said... If you good at something make sure you do it twice as much as the next guy.— M•A•J (@Ultra_Suristic) April 20, 2020
Guti's 7 red cards are worth 30 considering that he barely defended anybody and most of them were out of spite and frustration. Also if you go through Sergio's red cards, so many of them are absolute nonsense cards given to Ramos for being Sergio Ramos. Not that he'd have significantly less, but at least 4 of them are absolutely ridiculous.
Pepe had a pretty low card count surprisingly, him and Casemiro are much cleaner than their reputation makes you believe. Pepe in 10 seasons with us only got 3 red cards, and all were second yellows lol.
out of my mind, that challenge on Dani Alves in CL (didnt even touched him) wasnt a direct red? or the one time he got mad and started kicking someone in the ground (dont remember who it was)
Pepe went a whole season not picking up a single yellow card in one year. I feel like I read this someone but I can’t recall if it was totally accurate.
