Just ten years after the Tea Party movement, Republicans in Congress are defending a $500 billion corporate welfare fund for a select group of large companies.— Justin Amash (@justinamash) March 26, 2020
What Trump + Senate GOP have done is hold hospitals, working people, and the vulnerable hostage so they could get in $500 billion (that will be leveraged into $4T) in corporate welfare.Without the Wall St giveaway, GOP refuses to fund hospitals & unemployment. It’s inhumane.— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) March 26, 2020
The cruise industry registers as foreign companies to avoid paying US taxes. Now they want US bailout money. Now the same Republicans who say immigrants who pay US taxes shouldn’t get help are bending over backwards to give 🤑 to foreign companies who DON’T pay taxes.Insane. https://t.co/inpD0wYWNU— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) March 27, 2020
Christian values: I've been a Critical Care RN since 1995. ICU beds and vents running out. Coworkers crying, scared, sick....insufficient PPE. People dying alone, family cannot be with them. My last human contact before work, a Trump supporter telling me to retire, that I'm a liar. Long day ahead.— Elizabeth Wisdom, RN 🔦🎶🌏🐾🦋☄ (@Bits9532) March 26, 2020

Cuomo says his state needs 30,000 ventilators. Trump doesn't believe him."I don't believe you need 40,000 or 30,000 ventilators. You go into major hospitals sometimes and they'll have two ventilators. And now ... they're saying, 'Can we order 30,000?'"https://t.co/cVzh9e2wzY— Kyle Griffin (@kylegriffin1) March 27, 2020

I think he meant worldwide. But that rate is mostly due to a few countries doing really bad (Iran, Italy, Spain) and not enough testing, which severely underreports the actual number of cases. Still, just checked the numbers and globally we’re at 5% death rate, roughly 30k deaths and 600k infected. Italy has 10k deaths.
Agree it's an issue of denominator. In China and Korea early rates reported were much higher until more people were tested.
