Ooh ooh!! I know that one - that's Grasshopper Zurich! I actually saw them play live in Zurich over the New Year's holiday in 1991-92. They were hosting an MISL-style indoor tournament and had invited the St. Louis Storm to play. My dad took me as a kid on a "road trip" to Switzerland to watch the tournament (which the Storm won for the second year in a row). I've still got some Grasshopper merch buried among my soccer collectibles somewhere.
While their crest is not a global icon of the sport, I've always thought their name of Grasshopper was certified world champion as club names go! I mean with all the FC's, United, Club Atletico, Dinamo, Sporting, Club de Futbol and the like across the planet, those guys back in the day said, yeah Grasshopper is what we'll run with.
In regards to the Earthquakes anyway, in theory, if they have time off could , they could get better with more training as they did last year with Almeyda's man to man tactics. The trouble is, if there are no training sessions and if the players aren't allowed to interact, I don't see how they can get better as a team. The layoff can however, buy time at least until other free agent signings become available. In that respect, I think the stoppage could help some teams.
Celta Vigo brother! Which translates to Celtic Vigo from Northwestern Espana. QUE VIVA LOS DE CELTA!!!
