The corona virus is spreading like a plague. Just 6 days ago ,only 63 people tested positive for the virus. Today Norway have 1000 people tested positive . We have a lockdown! Schools and kindergartens are closed. Stores has limited opening hours , all playgrounds , football pitches, ice halls and multi-purpose halls are closed. Most people work from their home or is temporarily laid off. People who has been outside the nordics or Scandinavia will be quarantined for 14 days or sendt back . We will probably close our borders tomorrow , and the National Guard is called in to support the borders and airports. We have been lucky so far with only one death so far. I wish all my brothers and sisters in the Nordics god health during this crisis. Denmark and Polen has already closed their borders . Sweden has not closed their schools as far as I know. And good luck to the Americans ! You are probably facing one of the biggest challenges since ww2 .

Been a strange day. 1108 tested and confirmed now.
Borders isn't closed for Scandinavians yet. But the National Guard is helping out on the airports.
Home parties is illegal and the National Guard will take the measures necessary to send people home from their cabins .
Norway has 3 deaths now. We have been warned hard by the Italian doctors , saying they have to leave people to die. Saying it's like war .
At the same time Italians have started quarantine songs to keep the their faith !

The crisis has started to hit the economic side . SAS will lay off 10 000 people .90% off the working stock. Hotels and restaurans will also lay off lots off people. Next question is now how the social office will handle the enourmous amount off people with the need off help .
Our government is doing what they can , but this will probably hit the working class hard.
From tuesday people entering from Sweden and Finland will also get 14 day in quarantine .
A new law has been issued to make people stay in the municipality they live in normally to assure that the small communities and their hospitals will get a to big strain from the the epidemic.

The Military has also started to build field hospitals on the parking lots outside hospitals . This is to prevent Corona contamination inside the hospital.

No sarcasm! The last thing Europe needs now , is a migrant crisis.
Almost 1000 people lost their life to the Corona virus the last 24 hours. Hopefully these numbers will not be as bad for the rest of the world .
In 2015 over 1 million migrants entered Europe . Many countries welcomed the people with open arms. Only the result has not been what they expected. Since 2015 most parts of Europe has shifted to the right. And the migrants isn't as welcome anymore.
The EU made a deal with Turkey to stop the flow of migrants to Europe .
Turkey has now "opened" their borders towards Europe again. And Turkey holds 3-4 million refugees after the war in Syria began. Erdogan has thretened to send all the migrants to Europe if the EU condemns the Turkish invasion in Syria.
Turkey started to bus several thousand migrants to the Greek border . Only this time they where told to go back to Turkey. But now the Turks didn't want the back . And the people was caught in between a political struggle.
Greece has strengthen their boarders and they have stoped to process applications from the migrants .
Som EU countries also sends some Frontex border control officers to support the Greeks and the European borders.

Im not sure. To my knowledge the elections in Turkey isn't very open or free.
Not sure if I remember this right, but I thing Erdogan is a working class man , a football player and a imam student. Still people refer to him as a dictator.

How are the corona crisis going in the States ? 30 000 registrated infected people in the States . I hope you get this under control . If not I fear Americans will suffer the same way Italy is . Russia will be sending 8 Brigades/30-40 000 people, Planes , medical equipment and transport to support Italy in their time of crisis . Cuba will also be provide Italy with medical support. You could ask where the help from EU is in this time?

Norway is still in soft lockdown . The Norwegian bank has reduced interest rates by 1.25% the last week. The Norwegian crown has collapsed . And yesterday the the city council in Oslo banned alcohol serving in all pubs and restaurants in Oslo.

It`t facinating to see how Denmark`s infection rate has almost stopped . At the same time Norway and Sweden keeps about the same infection rate . Even though Norway and Denmark has implemented more similar measures and infection control measures compared to Sweden.

Well, the Danish government was quick to make a total shut down, and so, after people were told to stay at home from work and school, they stopped making test of people with mild symptoms, because they told all Danes with mild symptoms to call their doctor and then not leaving their home for 14 days, not to spread the virus.

There is a debate in Denmark about the actual number of dead, because at first Denmark had a very low number of casualties, but then the government suddenly started counting people with cancer, severe heart disease and other deadly illness, who had died of heart failure or what ever, but then after they had died from their illness were tested positive for Coronavirus, It started with an 80-yo who was in hospital dying from heart failure, who at first was not counted, because he had not really shown any virus symptoms or problems with his lungs, but then, because he was tested positive after he died of heart failure, they decided to count him in, though there is proof that he died of Coronavirus.

Still it seems to be a strangely big different . I think Norway more or less followed the same regulations as Denmark . Maybe a day or two later, But still .
Denmark has to my knowledge 34 casualties and 1852 registered infected so far ? While Norway has 14 casualties and 3041 registered infected . found by 73 000 test so far. We also started to test the most severe cases march 13 . Norway has 7184 hospital worker in quarantine , 299 hospital workers infected , 57 people in respirator and 238 emitted to the hospital.
The good thing is that the numbers are climbing relatively controlled and they find about the same amount of infected people pr day ca180-240 .

Schools and kindergarten will be kept closed until after easter .
Today the ministry of Knowledge in norway decided that all 10 graders and all high school students will not have their exams . They will get get their overall achievement as their exams grade.

But no doubt in my mind that Denmark is leading the way in Scandinavia . I think the Swedes will regret not closing down.

Denmark is now in possession of more than 3 million brand new Coronavirus test kits, but they are so new that it has not yet been tested if they are reliable enough, so they are doing some tests before releasing them. The point is to do a test on as many as possible so that people who have already had the virus but now are in the clear and not able to spread the virus, then will be able to go back to work.

Sorry, mistake ... it's the UK that have 3 million of these test kits. They are not able to test if you are sick, but if you have already been sick of Coronavirus. In fact, there was a Danish professor saying on TV that you can be tested for all the viruses, bacteria and other illness you have suffered from in the past, because it all leave a "mark" that will stay with you all your life.

Sweden are heading for disaster. They have done little to nothing to stop the virus from spreading. letting children go to school and up to 500 people gather at events, while in Denmark the limit has been 10 people and everything has been closed down the past weeks with Norway following pretty much the same restrictions with one or two days delay.

Schools and daycare are still open for business in Sweden, and while all Danish borders have been closed for weeks and are being guarded by the military, there are still no restriction against traveling to Sweden if you are from the European Union and It was only yesterday the Swedish government changed their restriction of more than 500 people gathering at restaurants, hotels, in public places and at events, to now being 50 people. In Denmark it's 10, but a new law is being passed today making it possible to restrict it even further (I'm guessing to 5 people) .

It should be said, that in Denmark all these short-term laws and restrictions are highly limited, so they need to be reconfirmed by the parliament every week or so and there is no majority in parliament for any of this to become more permanent.

Generally speaking, the different Swedish authorities have much more power and time to debate what they want the government to do in compare with the Danish authorities, like in the case of closing borders, which was done by the Danish Government and parliament without really having to ask for much advise from police, military or health authorities. Obviously this makes it possible for the Danish parliament to work faster, when you do not need to do weeks of paperwork and debating every little possible change with several different authorities.

As for the spreading of the virus, then obviously Denmark is much smaller in size (when we do not also count in Greenland), so it's more difficult to keep people from getting infected when you are more people living in a space that is more than 8 times smaller than Norway.

In Sweden, the authorities and government have been counting on the Swedes to act cleverly and cautious and do all the "right things" they have been told to do, so that restrictions would be less important. Unfortunately people in the ghettos, especially in the outskirts of Stockholm, either are illiterate or do not speak Swedish and so do not really understand what to do, and/or do not really care about what the Swedish authorities are advising, but take advise from their local imam and mosque. and so the virus has especially been spreading in and from the ghettos, and some of the very first to die from coronavirus in Sweden was 6 immigrants from Somalia.
