Side not on those World Soccer Talk numbers this is how petty they can be when it comes to MLS reporting. So I remarked in the comments section asking them why the discrepancy over the reporting of the MLS Univision number for week 1 Houston vs LA Galaxy game? It was reported as 558,000 officially by a verified source Ian Thomas who got the numbers along with the +2 Demo share info from a Univision source. Ian Thomas btw is the journalist that puts out end of year numbers for MLS he works/worked for Sports Business Daily IIRC. WST reported 505,000 as the viewership which slid it just below a Premiership game on NBCSN. They also didn't list the complete viewership for the Seattle vs Chicago which was 350,000, they listed just 311,000. One could say maybe they don't include the spanish viewing number even though it was a simulcast, however that theory goes away when you realize they consistently do that for every other league and that the official viewing number was reported by ESPN for both games that week on the same media press releasing by ESPN Press Room which listed the LAFC-Inter viewership of 652,000 and listed the Seattle VS Chicago game as 350,000. When I reached out to them in the remarks section they deleted my post. I reposted and it'd stay up for a hour then they delete it again probably when they saw it reposted I played along maybe 3-4 times a handful of times. Lol can't make this stuff up. They will then put out articles on their viewership numbers out for news and discussion. To be clear this wasn't Christopher Harris, but Collin Werner this time who edits errr I mean puts out viewership numbers on that site.
Will update when more numbers come out ESPN #35 Portland vs Nashville 399,000 FS1/Fox Deportes .12 combined demo rating LAFC vs Philadelphia 236,000 combined viewership FS1(124,000) FoxDeportes(112,000) Univision/TUDN DC UNITED vs Inter Miami Univision(not out yet) TUDN(101,000)
Including OOH Portland Nashville got 541,390 viewers. Tunity analytics has not released any measure for the FS1.
My ESPN+ annual subscription auto-renewed a few days ago. Now, I realize that I won’t have anything to watch! I wonder if ESPN would consider extending my subscription for 3-6 months, gratis. Has anyone asked them about this?
I'm sure they'll say "just watch our large lineup of 30 for 30 documentaries and our talking head shows"
You were so prescient! At least ESPN+ Customer Support took the time to actually read and appropriately respond to my question, so kudos to them. We understand your disappointment about the cancellation of the games due to the current virus (COVID-19) and you want to know the options for the cancellation and renewal for your ESPN+ Subscription. I can definitely help you with this. Upon checking, I can see that your annual subscription will be renewed on March 30, 2020. Though our live games have been cancelled, you may want to consider keeping your annual subscription active or subscribe for a monthly subscription instead and take advantage of other ESPN+ contents. If you haven't watched the 30 for 30 documentaries, you can try to explore it as we have 52 videos on it and you can also access full ESPN+ articles using your ESPN+ subscriptions. On the other hand, you can watch replay games for the last 30 days. However, if you want to proceed with the cancellation and not renew it on March 30, 2020 please reply to this email so we can cancel it for you. Feel free to re-subscribe anytime and we still have the same rate for annual subscription which is $49.99. You may also want to consider getting a monthly subscription for $4.99 and you can cancel it anytime.
Well, it’s a wrap. That’s a record breaking season for MLS tv viewership! Pop the corks baby, time for the champagne!
Has anyone with DirectKick on DirecTV decided not to pay for it while the season is suspended? I just got my first charge and would rather put the money towards something useful, like some booze or toilet paper. Thx, Jay!
Could be. My wife is the one that goes over the credit card every month. After all, I am only a trophy husband.
Not having matches to watch for 2 months, I had forgotten how much I dislike listening to Taylor Twellman. But then I turned on an old NY derby on ESPN+ yesterday, and it all came back to me.
Twellman, Lalas, Wynalda... all as bad, although Wynalda occasionally cuts through the crap and says something that needs saying.
Twellman gets kind of out of control sometimes and it gets very annoying. Lalas is always trolling. Wynalda is such a huge asshole that even when he is right he is still an asshole.
