Yea Olimpia seem to legit be the foundation of the Olympic team.. Alex Guity, Jose Pinto, Elvin Casildo, Jorge Alvarez, Edwin Rodriguez, Carlos Pineda, Alejandro Reyes.. Elvin n Carlitos both had big performances tonight in Seattle. I think Jorge Flores been left Las Palmas for some smaller regional team.
Anything can happen but Montreal is the most beatable team that Olimpia could have drawn for the next round, they tied Saprissa 2-2 away and then 0-0 to advance. Olimpia can do it
Little over 2 weeks before Coito releases the official list of 22 that will fight for a spot in Tokyo 2020... Based off form and play time in la Liga Nacional.. This is my best 22: GKs: Alex Guity (Olimpia), Jordy Castro (Honduras Progreso) DF: Denil Maldonado (Pachuca), Carlos Melendez (Vida), Elvin Casildo (Olimpia), Jose Garcia (Real de Minas), Christopher Melendez (Motagua), Elison Rivas (Platense), Adrian Martinez (Marathon) MD: Kervin Arriaga (Marathon), Jose Pinto (Olimpia), Jorge Alvarez (Olimpia), Carlos Pineda (Olimpia), Edwin Rodriguez (Olimpia), Darixon Vuelto (Real España), Ilce Barahona (Platense), Luis Melendez (Vida), Rigoberto Rivas (Inter Milan) FWD: Douglas Martinez (Real Salt Lake), Kilmar Peña (UPN), Darwin Andino.(Real de Minas), Yeison Mejia (Real Sociedad de Tocoa)
Decas just played his first league game. Vazquez said he's been training with U23s a lot but I only see him listed in two call ups. Would be a valuable back up in Guadalajara. I think Carlos Melendez and Denil Maldonado are starters no matter what. Jorge Alvarez was seen training this week with the U23s so it seems he'll be back just in time but only time will tell.
#USMNT subplot to follow this spring: I'm hearing multiple MLS teams are set to decline callups for Olympic-eligible US U-23 players, b/c they're needed by the clubs. Would be something of a break in the tradition of MLS granting those even tho they're not required to by FIFA.— Charles Boehm (@cboehm) March 5, 2020 Looks Like MLS teams are going to decline Olympic Qualifiers call ups because it’s not mandated by FIFA. For us this could affect Douglass Martinez but the bigger picture is that the USA U23 will likely have to use USL players to fill out their team making them a weaker side especially since they will lack chemistry.
Yea, it's not a good look for MLS.. It'll depend on how high Douglas Martinez is on Real Salt Lake's priority list.. if they decline his call-up. then it's safe to say that he's going to be in-line for reg playing time.. if they allow him to come, then he's probably wasn't going to play much any ways. double-edged sword, just gotta hope one of the home grown boys are up to the challenge.. Highest goal scorer rn in Liga Nacional thats U-23 eligible is Platense's Jeancarlos Vargas, and he's a winger.. so I expect our goals to come from our midfielders and set-pieces.
Im assuming this is the last microciclo.. Kind of an odd call-up list for a friendly against CR seeing as the deadline date for official call-ups is quickly approaching: ✅ Convocatoria microciclo #6, 🇭🇳 H sub 23.🗓 Del 9 al 16 de marzo de 2020.👤 DT: #FabiánCoito📍 #SanPedroSula y amistosos V 🇨🇷 #CostaRica#FENAFUTH #FENAFUTH2020 #Honduras #Honduras2020 #Hu23 #H23 pic.twitter.com/3gTWz9QMUu— Selección Nacional de Honduras (@FenafuthOrg) March 7, 2020
I'm assuming he's looking for new names to fill out the last of the squad.. And I wouldn't be surprised if some of these guys make the list for the Czech Republic friendly.

Talking about Japan, Seria A and the NBA have been postponed due to Coronavirus and Major events are likely to follow.
Fabian Coito confirms Denil Maldonado, Rigo Rivas and Douglas Martinez will play in the Pre-Olympic Qualifiers.
Scared Rigo Rivas might bring the flu with him since he's deep in Italy. CCL canceled.. Olimpia's run is cut short.
Friendly vs Czech Republic has been officially suspended and it only a matter of time for the Pre Olympics as well.
I read on the US forums that the US Fed already told their boys in Mexico to go back home... they canceled the U-23 friendlies against CR in CR... so.. yea
Bryan Moya is finally going to join Rionegro Aguilas of Colombia after it appeared that the he wasn’t.
Some News Bryan Rochez will not continue with Nacional and has a concrete offer from a 1st Division team in Portugal. Rubio has interest from other 1st division teams but will finish his loan at Tondela and then Huesca will decide his future. Denil Maldonado will finish his loan with Pachuca which ends in December and then they will decide if they buy him. Muma Bernardez who works for the agency that represents Carlos Pineda says that he has real interest from MLS and Spain but says that Europe is the main focus as a landing spot. Luis Garridos continuation with Córdoba is up in the air as the team has announced that they will make roster cuts, as of now he has not been cut from the team. According to sources at Diez, Andy Najar to LAFC was real and a done deal but the Epidemic has halted those plans and it unknown if he will join the team when the MLS season restarts.
