For a CB Poch won't be the worst, although he doesn't like his CB's building a ton from that back but that's not Davinson's strong point usually anyways.

Poch played with 3 in the back. So that'll change things for Davinson. If its Mourinho like the rumors suggest then it'll be back to 4 in the back with 2 CB's. Hopefully he likes Davinson over the Belgians.

I don't think Mourinho is a big fan of Colombian players. Simple way to call it, I know. But I recall his guest host predictions for WC18 and had us bottom of group or surely not getting out of group stages. Cuadrado and Falcao surely didnt warm up to him either. As for Spurs, it was likely to happen. They had an amazing run last year but it was probably time to part ways. Really hope it's not Mourinho.

They've mainly played 2 CB's this year and Davinson has still played a decent amount. I think on paper Davinson fits Mourinho really well, very good no nonsense defender who will do well in a overly defensive system. But with Mourinho you never know, but if I had to guess it'll be good for him, but overall will be terrible for Spurs in the long run because Mou is a cancer who wrecks every club by the time he leaves.

Yeah I wouldn't put it past him, but he likes defenders who defend and who are athletic. Davinson has all the tools to be a world class defender, his biggest weakness is something that Mou actually doesn't have his CB's do (playing out of the back a ton). The reality doesn't matter, but I'm hopefull that he may like Davinson and Davinson will get better under him since he focuses so much on defending, if he ends up in the dog house though he needs to leave ASAP.

Mou only like win........he isnt loyal to anyone of his player and actually i think he dont like a single player.....at least before he wasnt outdated and had tools to win..........now he is only a coward that needs player in good level.....because he cant boost them anymore...

Yeah he's been bad for a while, but to be fair the team he had in Manchester was really bad. I hate him, but he can coach defending and embraces it, attacking forget it get away from him. And he'll throw anyone he wants under the bus, but to be fair Davinson does not whatsoever strike me as a weak character, he seems to not get phased by bullshit, so I'm optimistic it will be good at worst neutral for him. But like I said if it looks bad, he should bail right away.

Davinson starts again, seems to be clear first choice for Mou, but he's already made a couple mistakes in the first half of this game. Got beat at the endline in the box trying to shoulder the much smaller attacker off the ball who slipped it and got away, then he gives up possession with a bad touch in a really dangerous area with no pressure, was lucky they didn't get scored on. He's under a lot of pressure in this system because the RB Aurier is basically given license to play as a winger and he's bad defensively, so quite often Davinson is 1v1 without help in further wide positions then he's custom to. Overall I think this system and him being constantly having to go 1v1 will make him a better defender and he can do it, it could mean mistakes but it shows that Mou believes he can do it.

Fortunately for him that backline support also makes plenty of mistakes. They pulled off a win though and that gives Spurs momentum.

Starting at home to Liverpool, he's had Salah in his pocket so far in the first half, lets see if he can keep it up for the second half.

Spurs really suck, no attackers and they can't really defend as a team either. Just a mess right now.

And Man City is going to be the only one with a legit shot of advancing (out of the Premier League teams). My how the tables have turned.

Liverpool is down 1-0 and at home for the next game. I'd think they are still favorites to advance. Can Atl. Madrid score an away goal? Atletico hasn't been doing great this year.

Should be a good game tomorrow!

I heard on TalkSport that Davinson did not play due to injury.

    Hope it was minor.

Yeah I have Liverpool still as slight favorites to go through, they are other worldly when they play at Anfield, but Atletico are masters at protecting a 1-0 lead. Liverpools defense has shown cracks lately and no Alisson will hurt them, so it should be a good one.

    Simeone is one good manager.
    (I know, Thanks Faryd.)
Had them right where he wanted them going into England.
