random - but Gedson reminds me very much of Mousa Dembele. Think he can be the next box to box midfielder that spurs have been trying to find since 2017. he just needs more experience in England. But his penalty was f**king pathetic
Lack of Son in the line up has really exposed just how shit this team is. Half the shit players in this team needs to be replaced, but I seriously doubt Levy will make any real change during Summer. ----- Useless Dino in the Mist... 🏴 Former Tottenham Hotspur star Jermaine Jenas fears that Spurs head coach Josè Mourinho’s coaching methods are outdated:🗣"My fear is he’s stumbled into an era where he can’t impose those same things on this new generation”.[@5LiveSport]#THFC #COYSpic.twitter.com/41ALjHwAEb— Last Word On Spurs (@LastWordOnSpurs) March 6, 2020
The real coach that this team needs: https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/nag...er-passing-up-real-/aefnmpr1uj161pmkfhq407a1o
God it's depressing watching this shit garbage manage. ----- The guy isn't about making a team play better than they are. He needs money and lots of it. And then his tactics will be about playing defensively, fullbacks offering minimal support. Target man who we can lump it to. Superstar attackers who can make something out of nothing to compensate for lack of coaching. Superstar defenders to compensate for lack of coaching. And vs top 6 teams we'll go full on anti football. Struggling to see how it works without money. https://www.thefightingcock.co.uk/forum/threads/jose-mourinho.33910/page-430
not a fan of Mourinho but... i think it is harsh for him to take majority of the blame. if anything, Levy should take the blame. defense - they were leaking goals under Poch. needed a refresh but again, nothing in summer & in Jan. midfield - Ndombele... constantly out injured & he is HUGE defensive liability while Dier is just trash. only reliable mid they have imo is Winks (vastly underrated like Carrick before him at Spurs & England). Celso is good but still integrating while Gedson shows promise imo offense - without Son & Kane, this team doesn't have reliable goal scorer. again, Levy ignored to purchase backup FW when Kane went down in Jan
We can all agree that they have been hamstrung by Levy's penny pinching. And Mourinho's options have been limited by key injuries. But every manager has to work with the cards he's been dealt and Mourinho has been doing a terrible job so far. Under his watch, the players have been underperforming both individually and as a team. This is all on Mourinho and his player selections, formations, tactical approach. Look at his continued reliance on Dier to provide defensive cover. Or his failure to use Lo Celso as the anchor and the point of attack in midfield, a role clearly called for by Eriksen's departure. Against Burnley, going with five defenders, pairing Skipp & Ndombele in midfield, and leaving Lo Celso and Mouras on the bench was utterly shocking. And his constant tinkering unsurprisingly has resulted in complete lack of fluidity. Their play is disjointed. The severe drop in possession numbers can't just be explain away by his defense-first tactics. High pressure was an essential ingredient in team's success under Poch. Mourinho did away with it but has not offered a replacement. It seems Mourinho is driven by more by desperation than managerial vision. Yes, Levy should be blamed. He may have brought in a manager who will not take the team to where it once was.
all fair pts but as this article suggest https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51787031 in terms of tinkering, seems more out of necessity since his players are constantly out or missing w/ either injury or suspension. can't be helped imo... before Poch was sacked, Spurs were much closer to relegation. at least under Mourinho, they flirted w/ CL spot (4th .. well.. 5th place now with Man City banned) & are firmly midtable club at least.
assess & come to decision after this season is over. always thought it is more about salvaging instead of having some "vision" for future w/ Mourinho. he isn't without fault, but again.. still believe majority of the blame goes to Levy. i don't think Mourinho has done too bad of a job w/ imbalanced squad he inherited from Poch & without two of his most important/best player. if they somehow finish 5th this season & qualify to CL... job well done for Mourinho. if not, sack him... obviously... (along w/ selling off your best players)
I've no clue why Levy hired this idiot in the first place. It's like this BAD MOVIE at United never existed. Without CL next year it's only going get worst. Levy needs to spend big this Summer to dig himself out of this grave. Unfortunately, I don't think he'll have the brain power to figure that part out. This shitshow will be stuck in Hell for a long time, if they don't finish top FOUR next year. I wouldn't bet on it. "I've learned more in two weeks with Conte than three years under Morinho." ~ Eden Hazard
I've been following the Spurs closely for the past year or so, and I think Mourinho is doing a good job. Lack of spending by Levy and injuries have torpedoed the season, but he's done well with what he's been given. One thing I've been disappointed in is the defense. Mourinho has always been about an airtight defense. No matter what adjustments he makes, Spurs keep leaking goals. It's been frustrating.
lol how is this even solely Mourinho's fault when key players are injured + no players to replace them. It's mostly Levy's fault, I have to say.
Rumour mill is Pochy to RM and he turned down Barca. SHM needs to get out of Spurs if he wants to win a CL.
I think Mourinho knows now more than ever that Son is an indispensable player. Highly unlikely he goes to RM unless they pay a very significant amount of money.
Jose is done as a coach. He'll never get another decent job after this. This shit team may not win another game this season.
