James doesn't have the ability and skills to do what Isco does. Everyone chooses to look at the goals and throughballs he may provide but he falls short in every other aspect. Hence why Zidane chooses not to select him. There is more to midfielders than the odd goals and assists. If Isco isn't there then I prefer to see Modric in his stead
Yes and Isco doesn't have the ability and skills to do what James does; be a consistent goal and assist threat. The sport is about scoring more goals than the other team, not bedazzling with solo dribbles and faints with little end product.
Really agree with the second part, sometimes people lose sight of this. At the same time James hasn't proven to be a goal or assist threat for a very long time. Granted he doesn't play much so not much opportunity to prove what he's got. I hope he start tomorrow & Bale doesn't. If James starts I hope he lights it up.

Could be zidane is trying to motivate jovic back to the backup striker position by giving Mariano the nod ahead. Vinicius had that streak of games were he was not selected in NOV/DEC, it was like 5 or 6 in a row so I will trust in Zidane to make the right choice.
