The preseason is in the books and the club ends it with strong results. I didn't go to the Monarchs match but watched quite a bit of the replay and the performance was solid with the result being closer than the run of play. Briggs says he wants to keep possession and play with the ball on the ground and I saw a lot of that last night along with numbers going forward. If this is going to be the style and quality of play, we're going to enjoy 2020 (I think we're going to win it all every March). Interesting that Sargis played the full 90 mins against both SJ and Monarchs. From what I saw last night he belongs. Plus an assist from Penagos. I agree. First time i've seen an academy signee play the full 90, and he held his own, imho. Mario made his mark as well as a sub in the second half. I was most excited to see that the halftime adjustments made a significant impact. It's been a few years of us getting out-coached in the halftime locker room, and I think we just saw evidence that with Briggs, it comes to an end.

Match threads The match threads last season had few comments. I'm thinking of creating monthly threads to cover all the games within the month with o minimum set up for each game within the thread. Even with @fortunesfool223 valuable help last season, I felt I was spending more time than warranted given the low traffic on the threads. If someone wants to post game-by-game threads, I'll be a loyal follower. I'd love to see this board thrive like the 'quakes board, but the "target demographic" seems to prefer other digital media.
I agree with you. 90% of the comments last year were you, me, Sierrra Spartan and Tifoso so it's a lot of work for a limited audience. If I could understand wtf half the tweets that get posted actually mean, i'd gravitate to Twitter. I'm sticking to "old school" for now, lol.
Damn.....im not gonna make it.i've already watched the season opener 4 times and i watch every English, German and Italian league rerun on the tube...and i still got the DT's. Anybody know any decent soccer movies, other than than "Kicking and Screaming? LOL
Spoke to my ticket rep yesterday and picked up the following nuggets: STH's accounts are being credited for NEXT season for ALL games not played this year, including games not yet postponed or canceled (in other words, they're keeping our money but at least most of next season is paid for). If there are games this year, the club is preparing for attendance to be restricted, he gave 2,500 as an example, and that the tickets will be available through single game sales. STH's will have first crack at them. The league is considering different options to play some games, if allowed. It may include more games based on geography without extended travel. Primarily, the league is focusing on how to keep the smaller franchises afloat. Stadium construction is still "on track" to be complete by week one in 2022 but he conceded that construction was announced to begin early summer, which is right now. MLS is open to the possibility of an extended road trip to start 2022 in case the stadium will not be ready by week one.
