That's more media attention that Fury got in years... Inthink attendances will be good. The combination of Jeff Hunt and Atletico will succeed. They know how to sell sports

To be fair, they would sometimes do Fury interviews as well. I do think the attendance in Ottawa will be among the highest in the league. Ignoring last year when so much was up in the air, they were averaging in the low to mid-5000s in the USL. I'll take that as their base. From that, they could go up this year because they're in a Canadian league. Presumably Canadian cities, especially Ontario rivals, will draw better than mostly second tier US cities. They could also still suffer this year, however, from the late start and from yet another transition in leagues. It wouldn't surprise me if some of the casual fans still don't realize there's a professional team after the Fury died.
Also being on CBC will be a huge boost for the overall interest and you can bet that sponsorship deals will be leagues above what the Fury ever had. Looking forward to them releasing their kit and see the sponsor on it
#AtléticoOttawa have signed local Ottawa-Gatineau talent Antoine Coupland 🇨🇦#CanPL l Info: https://t.co/4VZb6yqpsa pic.twitter.com/8t4lMS27n3— Atlético Ottawa (@atletiOttawa) March 5, 2020
Having been to some Fury games in Ottawa, I should also add that 6000 is a magic number for attendance. Because of how they restrict ticket sales to the south side, lower bowl, if they get about 6000 fans in there the place feels packed and it is a great game day experience. I was really surprised my first time how full it felt with 6000+ fans even though the whole stadium seats 24 k. I I was Atletico, I'd do my very best to get at least 6000 for the first few games.
We have acquired Canadian goalkeeper James Pantemis on loan from @impactmontreal. 📝 | https://t.co/DCgQPeQPds#ForValour | #CanPL pic.twitter.com/ybnWitdRIE— Valour FC (@ValourFootball) March 6, 2020
And MLS is reporting that the Impact have already signed their academy player Jonathan Sirois to fill in the space left by Pantemis. So definitely a case of making more spots for Canadian players at the pro level. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020...goalkeeper-jonathan-sirois-homegrown-contract
Vancouver and recently Montreal are doing a good job. Can't say the same with "Team America" aka Toronto

1. A good job of what? Signing young Canadians from their academy like Canadian U15 Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty, Canadian U20 Rocco Romeo, or national team player Jayden Nelson? I'm not sure why you've made up your mind that TFC don't develop any Canadian talent in the face of evidence to the contrary. 2. You realize you are the only person who uses that moniker for TFC? If you have to explain it...
1. A good job of having Canadians on their squads. They've improved especially Vancouver. In terms of developing players, they still sucks 2. They are on social media when more Americans starts and play than Canadians which is most of the year and embarrassingly, during Canadian Championship. That's not ok for lots of fans...but I get it...American president, GM, Coach...
Also...Endoh not even on the bench. Disappointing to see Fraser not being utilized again. Not going to step the “Vanney hates young Canadians” narrative #TFCLive— Duane Rollins (@24thminute) March 7, 2020
And this Beating a dead horse here, but I struggle to see what Delgado provided tonight that warranted a choice over Fraser. He was a 69% passing accuracy at half. #TFCLive— Joshua Kloke (@joshuakloke) March 7, 2020
TFC have a good group of youngsters they just signed, give them some time. Vanney has given chances to Jacob Shaffleburg last year and this year. Unfortunately, he's had some growing pains. He's a young Canadian.
