Even before things became salty he didn’t try that much to learn the language or acclimate to the culture and his teammates. There were always interviews where he said he only talks to Luka and sometimes Cristiano. Nobody asked him to be going to bull fights with Sergio but he always did a poor job of being one of the guys. This leaving the stadium early every time is a slap on the clubs face. I’m sure Zizou and Florentino hate it but don’t want to make an issue out if it. Back in the day this would get a player fined.
People are living in a fantasy world where all the players are cool with each other and form personal relationships. James basically had the same three folks at Bayern he was around and nobody else. I wouldn't mind him being socially awkward, playing golf 24/7 or not even going to the games when he's not playing if he would be playing well. Maybe there's more compassion to give to a player when he's not playing well if he's a popular person, but at the end of the day, if a player doesn't play well, him being a swell guy and very popular is worth zero.
What fantasy world? Typical response from you. I say I like 2 sugars in my coffee and you hear I like 10. Even in the post you quoted it says that nobody expects him to be best buddies with everyone. Bullshit. You would be invoking Madridismo clause if he wasn’t one of your favorites. There’s been many many players who’ve come and gone whom you didn’t give an inch to because of something they said in the media about the club. Not even bothering to stay at the stadium until your “teammates” or at the very least co-workers finish the game is pretty disrespectful no matter what.
He does not have to be cool with anyone on the team. He does not have to go the bullfights with Ramos. He only needs to show his heart in the game. When he does not do that, the players around him know that they are playing one man down.
I'm sure the players know what he is and they reciprocate the feeling. I'm just mad we almost got rid of this cancer and Florentino axed it. In the midst of mistakes we were compounding even more.

I don't give an inch to Bale either, i just don't get off by hating somebody on the team i support with this much passion.
Bale. €14.5M net a year. Just 3 goals this season. What's his future at Real Madrid?https://t.co/05X5prX7GW pic.twitter.com/K6RWqqLDL2— AS USA (@English_AS) March 7, 2020
The same as now. Collect paychecks, troll the club, play golf. If he was in any other club he'd be my idol I swear. Just replace golf with tennis and lifting weights

On this day one-year ago Gareth Bale scored his last goal for Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu against Celta. [@Marca] pic.twitter.com/tDzQMNK4gt— Infinite Madrid (@InfiniteMadrid) March 16, 2020
I’ve never been a Gareth fan from day one but that’s pretty poor all around for one of our most highly paid attackers
Overall he hasn't scored for us in 14 games. Last time he scored was a brace vs Villarreal in September. And he hasn't scored for a long time before that either.
Real Madrid are already making plans for summer and Gareth Bale's departure is one of the priorities. They're even ready to let him go for free, his wages are a big burden on the club financially. [@Marca] pic.twitter.com/GzwGiS56gf— Infinite Madrid (@InfiniteMadrid) March 17, 2020
Because the guy didn't and doesn't want to leave. The most important thing about this was Mourinho's comment on camera saying "i want you, but you've got to say something as well", which suggests that if Bale would have wanted, he'd be on the market.
If he refuses to leave, just pay him his last year and be done with it. Don't want to see his ass sulking, stinking up the place and taking a piss on the club.
He was pretty close to leaving for China and it also looked like he was leaving after our last UCL win.
How is it speculation? The sources on all that info were pretty strong and much more relevant than a Mou quote. Personally i think that both him and the club have changed the mind about this issue a few times. I can understand why he would want to stay (paid a shitload, freetime to play golf, enjoys life in Spain) but i can't see a single reason why the club would not do anything in their power to sell him.
