After the French government announced that no sporting events would be permitted before September, the French Ligue de Professional Football made the decision to end the Ligue 1 season using the standings at the time of abandonment to determine the 2020/2021 European places. Thus Lille OSC finish in fourth and qualify for the 2020/2021 UEFA Europa League group stage. They were 1 point off of third and a spot in the Champions League third qualifying round. However, some clubs are talking about reserving the right to appeal the decision. Based on this interview with Lille's club president, it does not seem like they are interested challenging the ruling though they are not happy with it.

Weah's season was over anyway due to him re-tearing his hamstring. His final stat line for an injury derailed 2019/2020 season is a yellow card in 84 minutes (3 games, 1 start) of Ligue 1 play.
