Vary solid performance especially considering the crap players around him constantly out of position. Solid player. Like him alot and wish him well.
Bud, he is not Ronaldo and taking over a game. He is a vary strong presence in the midfield but needs to be accompanied by talented and tactful teammates for him to be effective. At one time, I saw him take the ball and I kid you not, three players all ran to the same location on the field. It was like we were watching kids play. In my humble opinion, he is not a superstar but a vary vary good play. I also dont think this coach is the right coach for this team, but this is another topic.
I hate it when people blame the coach all the time. Most people have never coached before or scouted like I have . Not that ole is a good coach but just saying IN GENERAL.
Can you go on there and ask them how many people have coached and won even youth championship? Have they ever been offered a scouting role at a professional club like i had a chance once? I just returned from Portugal and I’m not giving up hope now that I am single again. Bruno fernandes is a good player I agree with eurodads comments. Eurodad, are you a dad ? I’m a dad as well. Have you coached before ? You did make some good comments about the positioning I noticed that as well when I reviewed the game.
Hi Joe Not only am I a Dad, Im now a Grandfather. LOL just aged myself. Yes I used to coach competitive youth girls soccer for about 10 years. My daughter actually was invited to play for Portugal's women's national team but we had to decline. Long story.
Very much disagree with this. He had no talented or tactful teammates at Sporting and still managed to dominate the league in a way we haven't seen in a long time. He's definitely no Ronaldo, but he is a phenomenal player that can takeover a game.
It is one thing to dominate in the Portuguese league, it is entirely a different case when you go to the big leagues. That is the context of my post. If he proves me wrong and becomes a superstar, more power to him and our National team is only richer for it.
Motm today , most British sites gave him a 9/10. He won a penalty which he converted and also got an assist.
Personally, even though I expect much from him, he has exceeded my personal expectations and seems to fit in well. I can guarantee if you got they opinion of the United players they would tell you he's been an amazing addition.
Been saying it. Dude's got ice in veins. @prodigal_mind, how are you going to spin this one? Your boy FAILix on the bench. Yikes....
I mean what is so bragworthy. He dived for a penalty and then scored a penalty. The assist was all greenwood, even i could have provided that assist. Felix comes off the bench to save the failing atletico from tieing once again at home in la liga
Lol he scored on a deflection to make it 3-1 where are you going with he saved them from just drawing? Lol delusional
I analyzed the footage and the initial direction and velocity on his shot were for sure going in even without the deflection It was 1-1 before Felix entered the match. He also played a key pass (you probaly dont know what this is) in the second goal.
Yes, before he ented the game it was 1-1. He played a key pass in second goal, and finished off the game with the third. Also sent a Villareal defender to the shadow realm in the box
His penalty kick technique is amazing. I’m working on a compilation of his penalty kicks and will show it to the kids I coach this season. If Portugal goes to a penalty shootout at the upcoming Euros, he definitely needs to be selected as one of the first three kickers.
Not sure how old you are but that technique has been around for a long time. I used to use a similar technique myself. Worked almost every time.
Please do share when you've compiled it. I am not convinced this is a great thing to teach kids. He does it to trick keepers to go to ground but that is rarely needed at any but elite levels. I also wonder if EPL keepers will adapt once they see it a couple of times. The most important thing to teach kids is to pick a spot, focus on putting your planting foot in the right place (i.e. check the ground is firm), visualize the freaking corners, then kick the ball firm into one of them (I often tell them to imagine a teammate waiting for the ball in one of the corners). Don't kick at goalie and don't try to hit it too wide/high. Until you get into elite levels as long as the kid has decent accuracy on his kick/pass that's all you need to teach. It's unnecessary to trick the keeper - very few goalies until elite levels can get down quickly enough to stop a firm shot and even then it's usually a 50:50 guess by goalie. With success comes confidence, which is the final element. The other reason I would avoid teaching this until very high level is that you are adding a hitch, complicating the move - the moment you start overthinking a PK is the moment you start doubting yourself. Which may cause you to change your shot at the last moment - which leads to discomfort/mistakes. Infamous misses by pros all tend to have one of two things in common - bad technique/foot slip or kicker changes way from their desired target (usually b/c keeper got in his head). The other reason is, of course, a complete mental collapse under pressure - there's little to do about that besides just making sure to have them watch Ronaldo's famous PK pep-talk to Moutinho*. The stutter-step technique also has other possible problems: (a) it has the danger of causing a kid to slow down too much and lose all power in the shot and (b) poorly executed it will be illegal or cause an inexperienced ref to think it was illegal (and you better believe the keeper and the opposing coach will try to pressure the ref on this point). I'm curious how Bruno will do once keepers start getting used to his stutter step. The reason he does it is to cause a keeper to jump too early, then send it the other way (Ronaldo is freakishly good at this but doesn't rely on any specific stutter step technique). What will happen when keepers adapt and wait for Bruno to commit to a side? Will he remain as effective? The last 3 PKs I saw from him all went the same way (to the keeper's left b/c they jumped too early). What happens when they force him to kick to the right? /TLDR: I would never coach kids to add unnecessary complications like stutter steps to their PKs. The key is KISS - keep it simple, stupid! If you want to show them any video on PKs I recommend you show them Cristiano Ronaldo's pep-talk to Moutinho at Euro 2016. If that doesn't improves a kid's PKs nothing will. *
