Its a couple of months away, but why not start the thread early? And since many here don't venture into the Women's International threads, I figured this news should be over here in the USWNT forum as well:

We have the teams (England, Japan, and Spain) and two of three locations (NJ and Orlando). The tournament will be inside the FIFA window of March 2-11.

That would be a bit of a surprise to me since Houston already have the group Olympic qualifying games. They usually spread out games more than that.

Should expand the number of teams. 4 is kinda small.

There's really no other good teams available this year. Everyone is already involved in a spring tournament. And there's only 3 games allowed in this window, so if you added more teams, each team wouldn't play every other team.

I'm glad to see Spain in the tournament. They played the US tougher than any other team in the World Cup. A good gritty performance.

Please post as soon as anyone finds out the exact Dates and Times of the Tournament. I want to set aside my days off for Florida as soon as possible. :)

Let me reiterate my standing offer to my fellow BigS posters to confer and negotiate with any boss for time off to attend USWNT Matches. I look forward to the time when ALL Americans will receive PTO for Match Day and day after Match Day.

Given lil’s FIFA Window of March 2-11, “open” against England on March 5th - - - almost has to be March 5,6,7,8,9,10,11……….Right?

That will be a pretty intense travel schedule, especially for the teams traveling in. It was easier the first few years when it stuck more to one region and wasn't as spread out. I guess they couldn't book another venue in the Southeast?

Okay, I've got a ticket to the England game.

Quite a few years since I've seen them play live, I think it was that cluster#$%^ of a game in Boca.

I only wish is that it was on a weekend, the round-trip drive in one day, after at least half a day of work, is probably going to be brutal...

Anyone know if this tournament plays FIFA sub rules or friendly sub rules?

    From last year:

It’s a round robin tournament where each country will play three games over the next week, hoping to gain points along the way. A win earns three points and a draw settles for one point. The winner of the tournament will be decided by higher total points, with the goal difference as the first tie-breaker, followed by goals scored, then head-to-head. If teams are still tied, the next tie-breaker will be the Fair Play ranking. Each Team is allowed six substitutes per game.
