I think the above sums up Nojima's season last season. Nakano comes into the team and plays well, but really unbalances the team and 2018's system. I want to stress that it is not her fault, because she played well. Anyway, she scored along with Minamino (who had a bad season) most of the goals but overall everybody else like Mebae Tanaka and Yoko barely got a sniff of the goals. Also Yoko in 2018 had at least 8 assists, but in 2019 did very little in the time that she played. In 2018 more players contributed to the goals than in 2019 and that was due to the change in system in 2019 and moving players out of position. This is why Mina Tanaka's move to INAC is interesting. Beleza I am sure will be fine, but now without the focal point of Tanaka it might be more difficult for them to score. It might make them better too, but it will be interesting to see how things turn out. I will leave it at that because I could write at great length on this and I do not want to bore you all. Yoko is injured. She has done something to her knee (I can't remember what it is exactly), but she should be out for another week maybe two. It is not a bad knee injury by the looks of it.
Please, bore us! I want to read long and insightful analysis about next season, and every post by a so invested follower as you is welcome. Thank you: it's quite reassuring both that Yoko was just out for an injury and that it shouldn't be anything very serious. Huelva fell once again in full relegation-zone: let's see what they can see in the next weeks with their new signings.
1223766712954191875 is not a valid tweet id Looks like INAC actually has a new logo for the new season. The above is a tweet from Miyabi.

I know we have already posted this video on our thread and we've all seen it multiple times, and it's about events that we all know by heart. But I happened to stumble into it again while reading an article about Alex Morgan and I thought that maybe some of you would have enjoyed rewatching it as much as I did:
We're deeper and deeper into the week, while I post my international updates: at this rate, I should make them a byweekly feature instead of a weekly one. Anyway, let's give a look around the world: Aussie W-League is in break because of AFC Olympic qualifiers (Australia will debut tomorrow vs Chinese Taipei). Division 1 Féminine: - French League was in break also, last week-end, but it was because of Round of 16 of Coupe de France, so OL played anyway. They won by a mere 0-2 vs Division 2's team Thonon Évian and Saki Kumagai only played 1st Half. In the quarter finals, that will be played on the week-end of 15th-16th of this same month, OL will meet Dijon, an apparently weak team that was anyway able to force a 0-0 draw vs them in the first leg of the league: so it could be less of a cakewalk than it could appear on paper. Liga Femenina: - On saturday the 1st of February: Real Sociedad-Espanyol 4-1. Nothing new for Barcelona's club descent into relegation that this season has become. Ayaka Noguchi played the whole game. - On Sunday the 2nd: Deportivo Abanca-Athletic Bilbao 0-2. Maya Yamamoto was only subbed-in at 81'. With this result, Athletic Bilbao caught up with Deportivo at 4th place. - Also on Sunday: Sporting Huelva-Rayo Vallecano 1-0. Yoko Tanaka nowhere to be seen because still injured. Huelva now back up at 13th place: their season keeps being a nail-biter any way you look at it. Serie A Femminile: - The match vs 2nd-placed Fiorentina wasn't for sure one where Tavagnacco could hope to make some points, but they double-squandered any chance they could have: firstly, because they only lost by 0-1, with a quite uninspired performance (see video below) and secondly because they were punished with a worse loss (0-3) because of the absence of an ambulance at the venue and with a -1 in the rankings to boot!!! . Meanwhile Pink Bari made a point by drawing vs Hellas Verona, but it's not as bad as it seems: these two club are the ones Tavagnacco has to fight against to avoid relegation and with this tie neither one ran away too much far in the rankings: they're both withing reach (Verona 4 points ahead and Pink Bari 2 points ahead). It doesn't help much that in the upcoming week-end 3rd-placed Milan will be hosted by Tavagnacco (they're into a close fight with Fiorentina for a Champions' League spot): I don't think it is much likely that Tavagnacco will make any points from this match. Both Kato and Kunisawa were on the pitch last week-end. Tavagnacco also just signed a promising Finnish player, looking at the very least quite tall and athletic. Let's see what they're gonna do of their remainder of the season!
Nadeshiko Japan candidates training camp members ( February 14-19): GK Yamashita, Ikeda, Hirao DF Matsubara, Miyake, Doko, Shimizu, Seike, Miyagawa, Minami MF Nakajima, Naomoto, Momiki, Hasegawa, Sugita, Miura, Hayashi, Endo FW Sugasawa, Iwabuchi, Tanaka, Ueno, Ikejiri, Ueki, Kobayashi
I sense a change of guards. I understand that Samshima is likely injured and Kumagai and Utsugi have other obligations... Rumi also might still be injured. Her last blog entry is from December 2019. At least there seems to be consistency now... https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=2&hl=en&ie=UTF8&nv=1&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=ja&sp=nmt4&tl=en&u=http://rumiutsugi.com/blog&xid=17259,15700021,15700186,15700191,15700259,15700271,15700302&usg=
International update: Aussie W-League: The Melbourne derby between City and Victory have been posponed to avoid conflicts with the Olympic Qualifier match Australia-Cina that have been delayed because of the coronavirus crisis. So, no match for Kinga's team this week. Division 1 Féminine: - On Saturday, "Olympic" clash between Olympique Marseille and Olympique Lyon. Lyon win by 0-8. By a Japanese point of view, it can be interesting to note that it was our Saki Kumagai who opened the score at 15' and that she's played the whole 90'. OL keep their 3 points advantage over PSG. As you can see from highlights, after the goal Kumagai showed an Hegerberg's jersey. Incidentally, the young Naomie Feller, who was signed by OL after Hegerberg's ACL injury, debuted at 61' in this match and scored just 6 minutes later. Liga Femenina: - Not sure why, but, after the 19th match-day was played last week-end, the 20th one will be played on 15th-16th of February. Any other competition in-between? National Cup? Can @KAPIJXM help us? Serie A Femminile: - Italian League was also on break, but here I can tell you for sure that it was because of Coppa Italia's quarter finals. Our Japanese players weren't on the pitch, because Tavagnacco had been already eliminated from this competition in the Round of 16 in December.
I hope I am not considered off-topic. Not sure if anyone will share my feelings, but when Beverly Goebel-Yanez had played two seasons for INAC Kobe Leonessa I had grew a fan of her. So I am sad to see that she announced her retirement today. Reign FC midfielder @beverlygoebel (Yanez) has announced her retirement from professional soccer.Thank you to Bev for an incredible six seasons. Bev will always be a part of the Reign FC family.Details here: https://t.co/vefvFYUOJZ#ThanksBev pic.twitter.com/f8eT9PvMiq— Seattle Reign FC (@reignfc) February 10, 2020
Spanish Supercup. Real Sociedad beat Levante 1-0 and Barcelona defeat Atlético 3-2 and in the final Barcelona thrash Real 10-1 (not good news for Spanish league if you ask me).
First news about new pro league Kyodo has details on 🇯🇵's new pro #woso league:- Will run Sept. '21-May '22, 6-10 clubs- No relegation to Nadeshiko League- Min. 1 female exec- >1/2 of club staff must be women within 3y- Club name must incl. home area, may include company namehttps://t.co/7SCyXqPlfE— Dan Orlowitz (@aishiterutokyo) February 15, 2020
Very interested in how the pro-league will turn out, which clubs it will include and if they're really going to have to change their names and crests, as it somehow seems from Leonessa's and Beleza's latest news. Meanwhile, another round of international updates: Aussie W-League: - Melbourne Victory-Melbourne City 0-4. After the AFC Olympic qualifiers' break, the Melbourne derby was finally played (although AFC qualifiers are far from finished) and City keep dominating the league. Finally, Yukari Kinga is back at her place in the midfield: she most probably had a slight injury keep her out for the latest pair of games, but the AFC qualifier break gave her the time to come back in full fitness (she played the whole match). Highlights (where you can see Kinga being involved in multiple offensive actions): https://www.w-league.com.au/video/melbourne-victory-v-melbourne-city-highlights-westfield-w-league Division 1 Féminine: - the league is still in break for the Coupe de France's quarter-finals. OL won by 0-2 their match vs Dijon and they're now in the semifinals. Saki Kumagai started and was replaced at 81' by Greenwood. Frauen-Bundesliga: - I'll only notice that Bundesliga's first Division restarted this week after the winter break, but, after Naomoto moved back in Japan from Freiburg, we have no Japanese player there. 2nd Division will restart next week instead. Liga Femenina: - On Saturday, Real Betis-Espanyol 2-1. Ayaka Noguchi was subbed-in after 1st Half had ended 1-0 for Real Betis. - I'm going to update you later, guys, about Barcelona-Sporting Huelva and Rayo Vallecano-Deportivo Abanca, that will be played this afternoon. Serie A Femminile: - After Coppa Italia's break, the league resumed and as expected Tavagnacco lost by 0-4 to Milan, with both Kunisawa and Kato on the pitch. It can be a marginal consolation that the direct rivals for the relegation brawl also badly lost: Pink Bari by 1-4 to Florentia San Gimignano and Verona by 6-0 to Roma. Next week could be a good chance for Tavagnacco: Verona will have to play first-placed Juventus while Pink Bari will have a challenging away match vs Inter. Tavagnacco's match vs Empoli looks easier on paper, but when I had said something similar in the first leg of the league, Tavganacco had squarely lost to them. We're going to see if they can make any point from that game. Meanwhile, highlights of the rout vs Milan (actually Tavagnacco had managed to keep it on 0-0 for an half): -
The catch-up updates: - Barcelona-Sporting Huelva 7-0 . Ok, Barcelona is Barcelona, with all of the various Martens, Graham Hansen and Oshoala (all scoring), but it looks like Huelva is really drifting astray. At least, it's not Yoko Tanaka's fault, since, once again, she wasn't even on the bench (still injured, I suppose). - Rayo Vallecano-Deportivo Abanca 2-1. Maya Yamamoto on the pitch for the whole game. Deportivo 5th in the rankings.
They should be alright. Don't get me wrong they are not the best team and they could still get relegated, but they have now played the two best teams in Spain (Barcelona and Athletico). They should be able to scrape together some wins. They have some okay players, but the system is just terrible. Of course I could be wrong. Also watching some of the match against Barcelona you really get to see how bad some of Huelva's players are. They are unable to keep the ball under pressure and panic. The style of football they play is kind of effective against weaker opposition, but against good opposition they look weak rudderless. Even against weaker teams they look a mess. I think they need a new manager. I hope Yoko can get fit again soon (hopefully this week) and get back in the team. With the new American (forgotten her name) I could see them linking up quite well together, but they would have to change their style of play.
