That was a nice finish from Alvarado. Necaxa in fourth place.

It's very interesting how things can sometimes click for a player in certain environments.

He's undoubtedly in the best form of his career, so a call-up makes sense, but I was under the impression that he was a good leader and just a pretty-good CB... stats-wise his partners tend to out-tackle / recover / intercept him.

It’s time that Ventura is called up.

    Brooks is injury prone.

Miazga and CCV are floundering in the Championship.

Long and Zimmerman are good, but MLS level good. Miles Robinson is error prone.

    EPB is going nowhere.

Richards is still a ways away.

    We need quality center backs.

I liked this guy's physical attributes. When he was with the USA he was young but made mistakes. But he was fast, quick and had some skill.

I’d be really happy to see him get another look with USMNT.

He is the current captain which is very cool but he's accomplished everything he can accomplish in Mexico already. He has won both seasons of Liga MX, a Copa MX, a SuperCopa and the Champions League twice. I would have liked to have seen him challenge himself outside of Mexico. There are other trophies out there to win.

Whatever happens with his International career, it's great to see someone thrive in their day job as much as he seems to have thrived here with Necaxa. Pretty amazing how the kid did a complete 180 with his career once he made this move.

Just another reminder that when a player is 22 years old, his fate isn't set in stone. When looking at prospects like EPB, Julian Green, Zelalem, etc, it's easy to forget just how much time they have to transform their career.
