Good Philadelphia Inquirer article on Jill Ellis after the pressure of USWNT coaching. A podcast episode that's definitely worth listening to: the Total Soccer show interviews Kate Markgraf on her job as the USSF Head of Women's Football (including her argument for the Chicago rule and how she interacts with Vlatko and influences USWNT decisions) and Yael Averbuch on various things, but the best part, imo, is about her playing for Vlatko (and how she believes Vlatko will impact the USWNT culture).
^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Thank you for posting. Since Julie's Husband will not be playing in this thing they call the "Super Bowl" and thus there is no chance of catching a glimpse of her in the stands - - - I won't have to invest 4 1/2 hours to see this.
New jerseys drop tomorrow: 1224813998534791176 is not a valid tweet id Likely to look like these leaks: This is apparently the next away kit for the #USWNT and #USMNT. I just have one question: why? 😬Source: https://t.co/J1dAoVALKe (As far back as I can remember, Footy Headlines has always been accurate on these leaks.) pic.twitter.com/MKPhAPKqO0— Caitlin Murray (@caitlinmurr) February 3, 2020 And here is the new #USWNT and #USMNT home kit. Looks awfully familiar! pic.twitter.com/YvZSzxuNJX— Caitlin Murray (@caitlinmurr) February 3, 2020
No; the pic just shows the WNT one. Also just a reminder that for the Olympics, there'll be no crest on the jerseys. Just "USA."
Also in 2016, the WNT got an Olympic jersey that the men did not wear. The same could be true this year.
The men didn't qualify in 2016. 2008 was the last year they played in the Olympics. They should qualify this year because we have a lot of talented youngsters, but they do have a tough group.
Sorry, I know the men didn't qualify then. The meaning of the post was more to point out that in 2016 there was a special tournament jersey, like the USWNT also had in the 2007 WWC (the horrendous gold ones), which doesn't usually happen. I think its up to Nike.
The away kit would be perfectly fine without the lighter blue splotch across the front. The simple navy blue with red trim is clean and sharp.
SI now article with info on upcoming friendlies: there will be a USWNT friendly versus Brazil on April 14 in San Jose, CA. Then the USWNT will play Germany in East Hartford, CT on June 6. The article also says the USWNT will play 2 friendlies in April, June, and July (so another game in April window, another in June, and 2 in July that are all TBA).
Looks like sportswear's companies were particularly commited to make the worse possible jerseys specifically for these Olympic Games: you should see the horror-show that new Nadeshiko Japan kit is!
The leaks were accurate; some more info on the new home and away kits here (but no pics yet of the team wearing them): https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/20...ersey-released-nike-soccer-uniforms-home-away The WNT will debut both new kits at the SheBelieves tournament. (The MNT will debut them later in March.) EDIT to add for those who don't want to click through the link to see pics: I’m just really...underwhelmed...by everything about the new #USWNT jerseys. pic.twitter.com/Oto3WfdKg2— Ali 🟧 (@allibecc) February 5, 2020
Apparently according to the press release, this is an "abstract take on the state borders." This is very abstract to me though; I really don't see it. Which border is it supposed to be?
FUTURE MATCHES! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !lil knows about these Matches before they are scheduled.
The blue color is good but don’t like the camo or borders. I guess they are saying America’s borders are very fluid.
The '19 WWC Version had the names of the 50 States and "One Nation One Team" woven into the fabric....which is cool as H. I would suggest the same concept but use "Bad *ss" and "One Nation One Team" woven into the fabric. For only the Women's Jerseys of course.
Chinese women's team has this kit. U.S. should have something similar with an eagle. Instead of the so called blob. The blue color is awesome but should have something what China has.
