As reported in another thread: he joined the club for 1-season in a free transfer. He will wear shirt number #33.
Did not get his work permit in time for this weekend’s match. He might be ready to play after the international break.
Probably they forgot how they left eachother. Slutsky left Honda rotting on the bench for an half season after his transfer to Milan was official. Anyway wtf is Slutsky doing in Vitesse???
Honda has publicly commented that Slutsky's resignation substantially diminished the value of having moved to Vitesse and that he is therefore considering a winter transfer. Additionally, the new coach cryptically disclosed that he was omitted from the squad for "unspecified personal reasons" for yesterday's league match. Now there are tabloid reports that his brother/agent is working on a January move to one of the relegation-threatened clubs in La Liga. One potential destination mentioned is Leganés, coached by none other than Javier Aguirre.
Honda and Vitesse confirm his departure. His playing career (or what is left of it) continues to get stranger. Good luck @kskgroup2017! https://t.co/Xm8lWnOk7l— Vitesse (@MijnVitesse) December 23, 2019
Zlatan Ibahimovic signed with Milan. Pure class compared to Honda, no begging to clubs to sign him, and managing his public-image and preserving it excellently.
LOL. not doing a great job of preserving his public image at his home town club though. https://www.thelocal.se/20191220/how-malm-fell-out-of-love-with-zlatan-ibrahimovic
Let’s see if this will turn out to be true or not. In case it is true, Honda will need to play for an African club to make him the first Japanese footballer to play in all continents (if we counted Australia as a part of Oceania).
He announced the transfer to Botafogo himself. Vamos !! @Botafogo #botafogo #ksk pic.twitter.com/MkECFErsaw— Keisuke Honda (@kskgroup2017) January 31, 2020
I hope he takes it seriously. I get he loves playing but the last couple years have made it look like playing is a hobby more than a career.
This is sad. With the likes of Ibra returned to Milan it would be nice to see Honda in Brescia especially since Balotelli is a former player as now. Anyway good luck to him, maybe call him for Olympic Games as a locker room grandpa.
