Massimo Luongo got a straight red in the 27th minute while down 1-0. Nuhiu was subbed on in the 37th minute after goalkeeper Cameron Dawson's own goal made it 2-0 in the 36th minute. A 45+1st minute goal sealed it before halftime, it was 4-0 in the 48th minute, and it stayed that way until a 90+1st minute goal. You made your last two subs at halftime. It's rare for a club to be out of subs before the second half starts, albeit having six subs wouldn't have helped. I thought you were climbing and were sixth recently, so I'm shocked that the Form shows you've lost four of five. Your 3 points from your last 5 games is the second-worst form above last place Luton Town who has 1 draw and 4 losses. The only clubs who are winless in their last 5 games are in first and last. West Brom has 4 draws and 1 loss. Second place Leeds doesn't have good form either with 5 points. Fifth place Nottingham has 13 points and is 5 behind Leeds with a game in hand. Your next League Championship game is Tuesday January 28 at second-to-last Wigan. Before that you play at QPR in the FA Cup on Friday.
Fox gave you the lead in the 43rd minute, and both clubs scored in stoppage time. Winnall made it 2-0 in the 90+1st minute, and QPR's Wells scored in the 90+3rd minute.
kind of a strange statement there, ivan. city have made over half the premier league teams look like they don't belong there either. they literally have the deepest pockets of anyone in england, on top of the ridiculous prem tv money that we don't have. of course we're gonna look like a class (or two) below. it's also be why it'll be that much more special if we win.
If you get promoted you will have Prem TV money. I don't know how often you sell out, but you could make a lot of money from that game. You might be able to say that you lost to the FA Cup winner. Of the 30 clubs in the Prem and above you in LC, 9 to 11 will be in the Round of 16 depending on Liverpool and Newcastle's replays, so that's about one-third. There are six replays, and four of them have both clubs above you or both clubs below you. Would you rather lose 5-0 to Man City or 2-1 to one of the worst Premier League clubs that won't get your home fans excited? I'm not saying those scores would happen, but if you knew you were going to lose why not lose to Man City?
nobody thinks Wednesday, as they stand, belong in the Prem. but they should be decent enough to make a fist of getting there. and once promoted you make the changes necessary to belong there. hell, there's usually one or two teams that dominate the championship every year, but few of them think they can play the same hand in the prem. promoted clubs always improve their squads on the way up.
Wednesday have signed Palace's Connor Wickham on loan until the end of the season. Knowledgeable Wednesday fans will remember his time at Hillsborough on loan from Sunderland back in '13-14 when he put together a fairly decent scoring tally. A pretty decent forward/winger, he'll hopefully bring a little more attacking flair to a side that's looked rather anemic in attack of recent. Of further potential interest, it's worth pointing out that Wickham's wife is my mate Pete's daughter. Lovely girl, Kayla. And by lovely, I mean … well … google her and see for yourself. And she's a massive Wednesday fan, to boot. Did I mention I've spent a night in her bed?* I mean, before she married Wickham, of course. But I did. *common decency (and the fear of Pete's potential wrath) requires that I divulge that she wasn't in it at the time. in fact, she wasn't even in the house. still ... ya spend a night in Kayla Cadorna's bed, you're gonna find ways to let folks know about it.
0 - 0 Oh yes I remember him from the last time. And Pete's daughter. And his injury... but not specifically what he hurt when playing for us. The link below doesn't show he was hurt during his time with The Wednesday. https://www.transfermarkt.us/connor-wickham/verletzungen/spieler/95435 "spend a night in Kayla Cadorna's bed" ...sounds a bit like a porno... We've also signed Alessio Da Cruz and Josh Windass, Dean's son. https://www.swfc.co.uk/news/2020/february/monk-pleased-with-double-impact/
1-1 ht sounds like, from owlstalk, that we are absolute shit and their goal was because of stupid defending and not clearing the ball in a timely fashion. Dawson had to do it and he left the goal empty.
It ended 1-1, and the statistics favored Barnsley. Next you go to Luton Town, who is the only club worse than Barnsley. Then you have four more games against clubs in the bottom half, with three at home. To have a chance at promotion, you need wins. The 8:30 A.M. USA Eastern start time was unusual.
what? it's got a coal miner and a glass blower on it. the only way it could be more 'Barnsley' would be if they were brothers and f*cking each other. at any rate, it's certainly better than when it had that 'Toby Tike' on it awhile back.
I purchased the Wednesday iFollow app today for $7.00 US at halftime and was able to watch the second half. We were dreadful. FF, Dawson, and Lees actually stood out to me.
Upon further review I actually kinda like that badge. The miner and glass blower make it kinda neat. Also, if you'll look at my original post, you'll see that you've misquoted me...
