Pointed this out on Reddit, but this person claimed to have seen the kit on Twitter. Why could he not confirm or deny FH's rumor then? I've had no success finding out what it looks like so it'd be nice if someone who has actually seen it can share some details.

This would have to do with Garber not getting Adidas to change the plan in time. So hopefully they managed to edit the logo's colors to fit the kit. Then mid-season announce a new crest and let this be a one year disaster.

They were basing that on the adidas catalog that came out at some point last season, I believe, so I’m skeptical. I’ll try to find the link to it, but they had that up (that it would be scarlet red) before the rebrand was revealed. If it’s scarlet red without a hoop of some color (white, yellow, navy, anything) it’ll still feel weird, but I guess a little less than a navy kit would be, which would kind of be weird in itself. Only a little while before we find out.

FWIW, Patrick referenced the hat in this picture as a "hint" on twitter.

The team was doing promotional photography shoots on Friday so it wouldn't shock me if people at the Fire Pitch got to see what the new kits look like for the first time then and that's when word got out. ...or he could be playing telephone with us.

That hat does seem to have some of the ridiculous jersey elements adidas has been using instead of just giving teams a non-monochrome kit, so I guess I'm a little less skeptical after seeing it and hearing about the team event. So maybe it's a boring monochrome scarlet kit and a boring monochrome white kit instead of mono-navy and white ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Either way, we'll look the same as 30% of the league on TV and from the stands, so I'm not too excited about our look next year.

The game controller is actually pretty sweet. If they had some more merch with the city map on it like that, I'd drop some dollars.

I don't think the team actually changed the red/blue for the new logo from what I can tell looking at the stuff I've got.

For their away kit mock up the color of the crest changed. Not sure if they did or if there was enough time to change it for a red kit.

Ah, I see what you're saying.

My prediction last week was a situation not unlike Cinci last season. A decent looking miTeam kit for the home jersey and a something plain white like Cinci that comes straight out of the catalog.

I only really baseded this prediction on the fact that CJ was wearing around a stock warmup/anthem jacket with the team logo slapped on it at the media day in LA while everyone else had new customized jackets. Cinci was also using stock out of the catalog jackets last year..ironically in black because I don't think adidas has a royal blue model in their regular teamwear catalog.

The new logo looks like the face people make when they step onto the CTA train car that has recently been used as a bathroom. Isn’t that Chicago enough?

Opening your mouth that wide in such a scenario would be a costly mistake.

I do not like the emblem at all but I Do like the idea of the home jersey looking like the game controller. That actually looks like...FIRE.

I’m so confused. Is this catastrophe of a logo actually changing or are we stuck with it and must order eye bleach immediately?

h/t to @ FireTransfers on twitter, but the hat looks like a red herring.

That looks like the design for this season's "On Field" cap, and almost every team has one in the same design. Nashville's isn't even close to their jersey colors.

Wow, the New England one is "almost" worse than the Fire's.
    Objectively, it is probably worse.
