So, interesting twist here https://rapidsrepublic.com/2020/01/...an-transfer-to-rapids-despite-colon-protests/
For so long nobody gave a crap what MLS did. We were such small potatoes that FIFA just shrugged when someone tried to point out some pesky rules violation. Even when it came to transfer fees, MLS wouldn't pay them and Blatter said "Eh.Who cares?" Now all of a sudden it's training compensation this and CAS that and Bosman something else, as if we were a real grown up soccer league How times change.
True, but I'm guessing Colon's claim that the long-term injury time didn't count against his contracted time is going exactly nowhere.
Kind of big day in Cincinnati... The team is moving on from Ledezma https://amp.cincinnati.com/amp/4502450002 Cruz and Deplagne got green cards https://www.fccincinnati.com/post/2020/01/17/cruz-deplagne-become-us-permanent-residents The Twitterverse is saying the team will waive Adi. And, who knows if Gastón Pereiro will play for either Cincinnati or PSV Eindhoven. It sounds like he (or his agent) doesn't want to come to MLS. Eindhoven says he won't be on the field at least until after Jan 31. He is out of contract this summer, and already cost Eindhoven $15 million for turning down a move to Moscow. Sounds like they are willing to sit him the rest of the year if he turns down the move. This may put his chance to play for Uruguay in Copa America this summer at risk.
They apparently used the MLS "one buyout allowed per offseason" rule which I literally learned 2 days ago is a thing that exists after the Fire ditched Marcelo.
Hopefully, this is the last of the Koch legacy. It's amazing how big of a train wreck that hire was. As far as Adi goes, the DUI killed him with the fan base. I don't think he knew how to fix it... Contrition would have been nice. But, I have a feeling this will come back to haunt FCC. Adi will catch on somewhere.
