Kobe once said in an interview that he considered playing soccer professionally but chose basketball instead. He lived in Italy for awhile as a kid.

I like the sound of “Rotten Logs” to describe Two Oaks and Austin FC. And I like the sound of “Stump Thumpers” for their supporters.
Thanks. I guess for the kind of money El Chino is getting, he can get his ass stuffed right back on a plane for four more hours. Just seemed weird - the poor guy just got here. But they're starting camp out there on Saturday so he'll surely just be able to cool his heels for a couple days. In fact, maybe that's the deal with Cadden too; no real reason to land him at CMH today, just keep on going to Cali.
Interesting how MLS left Zelarayan out of the photos in both stories. He is barely visible, but basically hidden in one......no surprise, but it still pisses me off.
Well, okay, but he was also one of only for players/teams named in that second article, even though 19 clubs were part if the deal. I can't bitch too much about lack of love in a photo when we're highlighted so clearly in the text.
MLS website has this neat little figure hidden in an article from yesterday... "In total, the sales cover six percent of the 20,500 fans expected..." So according to basic math that means ONLY 1,230 season tickets have been sold! They don't actually use the paltry number in the article. This number is far worse than numbers in Nashville and people are concerned about what's going to happen with their attendance. Yet they continue to talk about record setting deposits. As we all know, deposits don't equal actual purchases. Maybe it's time to start the move Austin FC rumors? https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020...dible-pace-says-club-president-andy-loughnane
What does this even mean? “We are moving through the stadium, seating category by seating category, and offering locations in the order in which deposits were placed while maintaining the integrity of the deposit process,” said greasy gutter whore Clark Beacom,
So far, they've only released super premium club seating. They haven't begun contacting people who made general or supporters deposits.
Loughnane beamed. “A life in Austin is an incredible life.” OK Andy - Keep telling yourself that every night before you go to bed. But in the end it won't help clear your conscience. You're still a slime ball that deserves to have all 12 of your prepubescent chest hairs peaking our of your weirdly unbuttoned shirt plucked from your body one at a time in front of all the people you have lied to in your career.
Such a strange strategy. Why not pick the low hanging fruit? Why not jump out of the gate with supporters section? Sell the damn thing out. Announce something more than 1200 seats.
That should be expectation, anything else is not a good sign for long term. BUT there is the parking/traffic thing that regardless of the supposed pent up demand & want to attend games may be a huge factor in driving people away from actually attending.
"Inventive ways of....eventual designated players." What are they gonna do? Skywrite the guy's name? Is an "eventual designated player" some sort of new Garber-term like TAM or GAM or is an "eventual designated player" a homegrown with future tabs on being a DP several seasons into the future?
What the hell is "super premium?" Does it come with hookers and blow, whereas "ultra premium" gets only one of those?
Now that Chicharito is off the table, they still believe they’re gonna get a Mexican Superstar. I have to believe #AustinFC will make a play for another #ElTri star... I wouldn't be surprised to see them make an offer in the Jan transfer window and loaning back to that team for the rest of 2020 (similar to Pulisic's deal w BVB and Chelsea)— Rod Mercado (@rcmercado) January 17, 2020
