No, but this guy is like a rat..... Please don't tarnish my high school memories of 80's hair bands by associating them with this douche.
With the crap Chicago new ownership has pulled I wouldnt be surprised if they had hired Dave as a consultant. Their rebrand was awful and they literally have half a roster and just announced a coach this week. Smells like the tanking technique we've seen. Watch they will demand public money for a new stadium in the city and will blame poor attendance on fans.
It’s nice that AustinSoccerHo stopped by to celebrate that one year ago today we all learned he was still an asshole.
I dont know if I think that’s totally true. They are paying a pretty penny to break their deal with Bridgeview and then renting out the new place isn’t cheap either. They totally blew the rebrand but not sure the owner is going to be a cheapskate like we saw here. If demanding public money is black mark on a ownership group then that’s a pretty big club
Moving to Soldier Field will be a huge mistake if they continue to think they know better than their fans regarding their history and identity AND they dont't some damn players - like tomorrow. Do they even have a game day 18 yet? Hiring a coach just a few weeks before the preseason probably isn't ideal. All signs are pointing to ineptness all around their front office. Moving out of Bridgeview won't solve that.
I don’t think I was a member a year ago, but that is a delightful non sequiter. I hope you get many reps for it.
It's also bizarre that they remain more active in this thread than in their own expansion thread, which has seen a grand total of two posts since last September.
Meh, it’s only one or two people and they only come to troll. I’m not even sure they are actually soccer fans.
I saw a rumor that Chicago is bringing the fans back by signing... wait for it.... wait fir it... Nemanja Matic from Man United.
I wonder what the whispers were like when all these queso slurpers realized that Tony Mc********Face wasn’t going to make a run at Chicharito like they’ve been begging him to do. It’s one letdown after another and they sti blindly follow.
I wasnt paying much attention but didnt Reyna tell Kneepads that The Green Vaginas weren't going to be signing any big money foreign players? (Which we could have told them long ago but why bother) They'll do everything on the cheap just like they always have. Chicharito my ass. They'll be lucky if they get Chicharitos pool boy.
Dont they use, like, Reddit or something? I just figured that those thousands and thousands of rabid fans were overheating some other server.
Not much interaction on Reddit either. Latest post on r/AustinFC was yesterday about events for their 1 year anniversary. 9 upvotes and zero comments.
They do, but are barely gaining any followers. They're at just over 2,200, about 4K behind the Crew's Reddit. Then again, someone of my vintage doesn't understand this stuff at all. MLS super-club Inter Miami only has 1,600 Reddit followers. Miami does, though, have a reasonable (albeit modest) presence in the Miami Herald, while Precourt's Folly gets barely a mention in the Austin Statesman. By the way, for shits and giggles, check out this Reddit thread about who Austin's owners consider their biggest rivals: https://www.reddit.com/r/AustinFC/comments/ej3cp1/5_rivals_for_austin_fc_according_to_our_clubs/ 5. Houston or Dallas 4. Seattle 3. Tigres 2. LAFC 1. Nashville What a bizarre list. Tigres was listed because they think they might clash with them in the CONCACAF Champions League (ha!). Precourt seemed to randomly pick Nashville because they're also a new team, and something about music. McConaughey picked LAFC because he knows Will Ferrell. Seattle had something to do with tech startups or something. ********ing clueless. Even their fans didn't understand the list: "Houston & Dallas, Columbus in the periphery. I truly don't understand why rivalries are so hard to understand." "Everyone too afraid to say the crew who hate us already" "I'm sorry, but this is incredibly dumb. I get that the club wants to fire up the fan base, but we don't even have any players, much less any games under our belt. The natural options have already been named in this thread, but what occurs at the stadium on game day will determine these things organically." Precourt being associated with the term "organically." That'll be the day.
The consciousness of guilt. That tall neckbeard in the back is in literally every single photo ever taken in Austin history. I think I saw him in a painting of Sam Houston riding into town. Aside from being ugly and stupid looking, doesn't he have, like, a job or something? I mean, aside from polishing Andy Laughlames knob? Good God what a shitshow.
Big announcement from Austin FC yesterday: Bodyarmor is now the Official Sports Drink of Austin FC! Awesome. Signing up those sponsors. Everybody jumping on board. All hail the green goblins. Wait. What? Thats a league wide deal? So pretending its a big coup for the rotting logs would be essentially a lie? Huh. Imagine that.
