Don't worry, it's part of the strategy. Have faith. You see, San Jose is playing 3-D chess while the other teams are playing checkers.
I love MLS social media this offseason because every team in the league feels like they're the only ones not making any moves.
Some have more threadbare rosters than others, and engaging the local market in Spring 2020 means more to some than others
Well, not every team Fans in Columbus are having a hard time keeping all the names straight. And not because they're all day drinkers. Admittedly, that's a problem, but still.
Actually, there are a number of teams which have made moves reassuring to fans. The Revs, of all people, certainly have.
The question in Chicago is not so much what they're going to put on the field but how many poor souls will be in the stands to see it amid how much is being paid to show it to them there instead of Bridgeview. The move-o-meter is currently set to "Extinction-level catastrophe" But anyway, after getting hired two months late for no reason they're beating the bushes in Eastern Europe looking for talent and seems like there are some intriguing no-name players on the way.
The team rumor mills which have been pretty accurate lately on signings say they have a DP vs TAM striker signed and flying in on Friday, at least one other defender signed, and a CAM DP almost across the finish line. They've been negotiating with Monterrey for Pizarro, but that deal is sounding iffy. Sounds like stuff is happening, but we'll know more closer to Feburary.
That's what everyone used to say about Mike Burns. He wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he certainly was the biggest tool... Yeah, in Rev-land there were 2 camps, the Nattering Nabobs of Negativity and the Kool-Aid Drinkers. The second group was getting smaller and smaller, as even the most pollyannish of fans lost faith. It really is amazing what hiring the soccer version of Bellichick can do for a team. Of course it was about 12 years too late, but I suppose it's better to be late in realizing this than never figure it out. Yours truly was one of the most ardent NNNs, but I honestly haven't been this pumped for the start of the season since the year they re-stocked the entire team by picking over the carcasses of Miami and Tampa...
I've said just under 18k, but it's going to be dependent on weather early on, and the team's record later in the season.
Surely, whatever the Fire is paying for Soldier Field necessitates them getting more than 18k average. If they want the gameday appearance to look good on tv (and to generate more ticket buying), then 18k in a 61k stadium seems really weak. Like what Revs home games usually look like (and sound like). What's the capacity of the stadium not including the elevated decks?
