The game will be televised on NBC.

Since last June's CL final, Liverpool have gone from strength to strength while we have basically disintegrated. While the Fenway Sports Group has backed their manager every step of the way, Daniel Levy and co. hung out Mauricio Pochettino to dry. Nowhere is the contrast between the clubs more apparent than in the manager position, where Jurgen Klopp has far and away supplanted Mourinho as the best coach in the game. Klopp is at the vanguard of modern coaches who preach possession, aggression, pressing and attacking football, while Mourinho continues to cling to the vestiges of defending in a low block and trying to hit teams on the counter with long balls up to the striker (or Marouane Fellaini).

The way we are playing, I cannot see us getting anything out of this game. At least DAZN in the buildup to the match is replaying our 4-0 win over the Reds from 2011 under Harry Redknapp. Does Jordan Henderson ever age? He was in the Liverpool side that day! Looking at the Spurs team from that season, I think the 2011-12's would be farther up the table than the current sorry lot.

    GK: Brad Freidel
Back 4: Assou-Ekotto, Kaboul, King, Walker
    Midfield: Kranjcar, Modric, Parker, Bale
    Strikers: Defoe, Adebayor
(and we had Van der Vaart on the bench)

Memories....light the corners of my mind
Misty water colored memories of the way we were

    That was an interesting group.

We could sure use a Scott Parker type in central midfield - that Bale chap wasn't too bad either...

It was a fun side to watch, if Chelsea hadn't won the CL that season, we would have qualified for the competition for a second time under old 'Arry.

That was my second favorite Spurs team after '86-87. We would have strolled to 3rd if Adebayor and (especially) Defoe hadn't gone cold in the Spring. Everyone was bitching about Harry's head being turned by the England job, and I suppose it was; but we didn't stop playing great stuff, we just stopped scoring. Our forwards had loads of chances, and the fluffed almost all of 'em. So many nil-nil and 1-1 draws when we were clearly the better side.

I loved, loved, loved Spurs under Harry Redknapp. Good times.

I have to say I haven’t seen much of Liverpool this season, but based on the first 30 minutes they’re easily as good as Southampton and Sheffield United. We’ll see if they can withstand the 20 minutes of pressure Spurs will apply in the second half.

Jose Mourinho tactics: bypass the midfield

    What’s your lineup today Jose?

I’m going to start five midfielders.

That was not as bad as I was expecting. No doubt who were the better team, though. I would say Tanganga is ahead of Foyth now.

There were positives to take out of the game. The team was set up in the only they could've: park the bus and the make a game of it in the final 20. Thought we defended well for the most part.

Tanganga looks like he's got serious potential. I wouldn't be surprised if we kept in him the lineup beside Toby and Sanchez in a back three going forward.

It's clear though that GLC has surpassed Eriksen in terms of usefulness. If this is the end for Eriksen, then thank him for what he's done and get him out of here ASAP.

Liverpool are unbeaten in 38, have won 30 of 31 and have only lost 1 of their last 60 games in the league. What impressed me the most about them was the number of times Mané came back to win the ball, something our players used to do.

The side played with more energy than I have see in some time, Winks had his best game in a LONG time. Young Tanganga and Sanchez were good in defense. Sanchez' strength is defending. Since Mourinho has binned playing out from the back, he has looked more solid. As well, the fact that Mourinho could bring Lo Celso and Lamela off the bench, despite all our injury problems, is a positive sign that their is still quality in the squad.

On the flip side, Eriksen and Rose should be banished to the reserves, they both look like they can't be bothered. It was interesting to hear the reaction of the crowd when the Dane came off, it was a mixture of applause, ironic cheers and boos. It's not often the Spurs crowd boos one of its own, but with Eriksen I can't blame them.

The question now is, will Mourinho keep faith with the more dynamic elements in the squad (Tanganga, Sanchez, Sessegnon, Ndombele, Lamela and Lo Celso) or will he go back to Winks and Dier in CM?

It could very well be Gedson Fernandes that he goes to. Multiple reports are saying that he's having his medical on Monday.

Knowing Levy, it will go to the deadline, Levy will try to insert some clause at the last minute, and Benfica will walk away.

Levy: We'd also like Bruno Fernandes as part of the deal. Same offer of course
Benfica: … but … Bruno doesn’t play for us
Levy: Look if you can't be reasonable there's no point continuing this conversation. Good day.
