He would spend the first two seasons with the reserves and then move to the first team *if his third year option gets picked up. This is a major red flag. If he is not going to get first team minutes he is better off at Barca until a team who can give him first team minutes comes swooping in.
Never mind the delayed first team football was the Barca contract terms. Hertha Berlin may actually be a good idea

Seems to be two American-born kids in Roma's academy. Previously-identified Giorgio De Marzi is with the U-13's, and Tito Segni (formerly of Bethesda SC) is with the U-12's. https://www.asroma.com/en/teams/youth-teams This post brought to you by the letter "R"
Article on the desire of '02 forward Ruben Hernandez to play in Europe. He was the top scorer across all Liga MX youth levels for the half-season with 17 goals, despite missing some time. At his level the second-place scorer had 10 goals. Hernandez is now moving from Tijuana to Queretaro (his Liga MX page currently has him as unregistered). Was previously at a non-DA club in the Stockton area and has been at one US U17 camp. He's listed at #21 for '02s in the recently posted US youth player rankings. https://www.marca.com/claro-mx/futbol/liga-mx/2019/12/18/5dfa454ae2704e4a0d8b458f.html
'03 forward Vaughn Covil made his League Two debut. His side is in League One promotion contention. Been at one US U16 camp in the past. I had thought he was born in England but it turns out his US eligibility is through birth in San Diego. 89' Covil does well to hold onto the ball in the area after McGinley's flick. He finds Aitchison who sees an effort blocked.0-1— Forest Green Rovers (@FGRFC_Official) January 1, 2020
Otasowie has re-signed with Wolves. Owen Otasowie has signed a new two-and-a-half deal with the club, keeping him at Wolves until 2022. Congratulations, Owen. Keep up the hard work. 🎓✍️https://t.co/D4MF7OEaJ0— Wolves Academy (@WolvesAcademy) January 1, 2020
I would think that with the amount of goals he scored, that’s exclusively a first team contract, especially if he’s moving teams.
Do any contracts in UEFA come with team only options? I think FIFA and CAS are on record as saying they are not allowed. Otasowie signing the new contract is generally what happens when a youth player will now be in the first team. He might just sit on the bench, but it is always a good sign. Lack of team only options and teams willing to upgrade contracts immediately when a player reaches a new level are some of the big reasons so many in the '01-04 age group are moving to Europe as quickly as possible.
His athleticism reminds me of CR7. I'm not saying he'll be anywhere near as good (and he doesn't score goals like Ronaldo), but I think athletically he profiles very similarly. 1212550936276721670 is not a valid tweet id
For the USMNT Gio, like Tim Weah will probably become a super sub for any offensive position. We have quite a few players who are elite but not Pulisic level for wingers and it’s now a question of which one emerges to claim the second spot. I like Uly Llanez’s chances for that. At the 10 I don’t see Gio beating out Richie Ledezma but he ads significant depth to any offensive position which is key for us. If any player gets hurt we can put him in and be just as good.
This tweet mentions that its Simons Gill's birthday, and then goes on to describe his game (technique, soccer IQ, creativity, shooting, balance). What it also mentions is that he's played in the above age group, which usually does mean the player is highly rated. This person also mentioned that Simons was in the La Masia best XI last season, which usually also means that a player is highly rated. Simons is one of the main names to watch in '06 IMO. 1213131712936521728 is not a valid tweet id Vassilev makes the bench in the FA Cup. Gio today looked a lot more confident on the ball then he did in the summer preseason games. He was willing to take players on and make the right passes. It is weird to see how different he is as a player at that level than with the 17s. Today was the first time watching him with the first team where I really sat there and thought that he's ready.
I don't think anybody will be surprised if he makes a debut this season. How much of a debut probably depends on Dortmund's activity in the transfer window (both out and in).
We should be suprised if he doesn't make a first team debut this season. Dortmund is very prone to giving young players minutes and Gio is the most pro ready player in their academy and the second best prospect besides Youssoufa Moukoko who's probably a year away from his first team debut because he is an 04.
Not currently. Evan Rotundo has trialed there recently. Dortmund typically only goes after the very top players in our age groups because the players not at that caliber won't break into their first team. Personally I don't want Rotundo to go there because I am not sure that he is at the level of Pulisic and Gio. Our prospects are pretty scattered through out German clubs but we have over 50 there I believe. Chuckme92 has a spread sheet on the guys all over there currently and it's a lot.
If there is anyone in the USA they are interested in, I'm sure they are already in contact and watching them closely. Reyna was contacted very early. Haaling they scouted dozens of times over a few years in several countries. They thought so highly of Pulisic they brought his cousin in and gave his Dad a job. Whatever I think of Rotundo, if they are after him that tells me quite a bit. With non-Germans, they only sign the best prospects it seems like.
Worth noting that both Reyna and Pulisic had passports so they could go over at 16. Dortmund want the raw materials and they want to begin working with them as early as possible. [We've had less success there with the non-passport holders going over at 18. Perfect example is Junior Flores, who freakin' disappeared.] If I'm not mistaken, Evan Rotundo has a French passport............................
