And we lost 3-2. To a team that is barely alive in the relegation battle. We are so predictable. I'm beginning the think we are throwing matches. I can see it happening. We win a couple and get the idiots who bet on us to bet on us winning and then poof!
days like today are a real kick in the goolies. monk's done a great job at Hillsborough, but he's really gotta sort seeing games out. dropping two points in injury time is bad enough, but pissing away the 3rd, as well? horrible.
I'd expect a good performance tomorrow. Monk said in his post-match that the Stoke game was the first in which he'd been disappointed in his squad's effort (for all but the first half-hour of the second half). I'd think they'll come out and try to get on the front foot early. Whether they can maintain it for 90 minutes after having played just two days earlier, I wouldn't guess; but I like Wednesday to be on top tomorrow.
i couldn't have been more wrong about the early effort, apparently. down two goals inside of ten minutes. crikey.
Does the Pope only bitch slap, i.e. "power bless", little old asian ladies or will he do whole football teams...?
you got a bad attitude, there, mister. they've beaten a decent premier league side on their own patch, and it sounds like it was deserved. that ain't bad. there's not much better than a good cup run, and Wednesday are on their way. all aboard the cup train ... choo choo!
Get in there!!! Reach scores a goal!! #wawaw #swfc @swfc pic.twitter.com/fbd8s0pzX0— WAWAW76 (@ndunne76) January 4, 2020
Since you didn't give the score, I'll say that it was Brighton and Hove Albion 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday. Brighton is 14th in the Premier League. Of the ten lower level clubs who faced Premier League clubs yesterday, you were one of two to win, the only one to win away, and the only one with a clean sheet. Fulham won 2-1 hosting Aston Villa.
@EvanJ your posts are always welcome! And from what I gather, we played very well. I had a migraine so I went back to bed and didn't bother to follow.
Murphy in the 87th and Nuhiu in the 90+3rd scored in a 2-0 win at Leeds, who you knocked out of first.
Have that, you dirty arse-lickers. That's a damn good result. The promotion train is back on track. choo! choo!, as ol' Beatsie would say … choooo! choo!
I have to say, having just seen the highlights, it looks like Wednesday were a bit fortunate today. Leeds appear to have had by far the better chances, but were wasteful in front of goal. Still, you make your luck and Wednesday created enough to make 'em pay for their profligance*. job done in the end. Great result away. *not sure that's a word, but it should be.
