I like Andre Silva. He almost scored in the first qualifier, but I think it’s time to replace him with Jota.
Jota is fast and strong as hell, every time you think he's going to get brushed off the ball he fights through bigger defenders. Biggest Portuguese revelation this season by far. Martin Tyler described him as a one man army
Huge mistake by NES taking off Jota. He was holding the ball well and taking it to watford half now this game is going to extra time. Taking off Neves as well really allowed Watford to press at will to draw the game.
NES now takes off Moutinho and watford makes it 3 2...i don't know what the hell NES was thinking taking off the guys that held the ball. This is all his fault EDIT: watford wins 3-2. Deluefeo came on and NES sh*t his pants and had his dominant team to bunker then subbed every player that could hold the ball. This was a total collapse of confidence 2-0 up with 10 mins to play. Very disappointing.
Yeah - how on earth that he sub out Jota, Neves and Moutinho who are - with Jimenez - the best players on the team - and then leaves Dendocker in ?! - who ends up to blame for both goals? This is on Nuno. Also - freaking play Patricio in the FA semis. That PK was straight at the keeper and goal #3 was also iffy. This is going to haunt him. Jota is a beast. I like him more every day. He rides challenges all day long; deceptively strong and fast. And that left-footed cross for goal #1 was a beauty. Really wish he'd played in the qualies instead of Braga's Brasilian Fw.
Dyego had no business starting over Jota. Jota is over achieving in the Prem while Dyego plays in a fake league and is already old.
Neves with another freee kick goal and then Jota goes through the Arsenal defence and scores the 3rd goal. Andre Silva has never done anything like what Jota does at an almost weekly basis.
Jota another goal and assist to place Wolves firmly in 7th with 2 games to go. Last game is vs Liverpool so it's important Wolves win their next game to all but insure a place at the Europa League (provided Man City win the FA Cup)
Nope, they have to win the FA cup to go to Europe. City is already qualified for Champions League so the 7th place team in England would get the last EL place which is currently Wolves.
Big win for Wolves today Everton and Watford have no chance at 7th. Leceister would need to win their last two games (one vs man city) with wolves losing to Liverpool in the final game to take the 7th spot from wolves. Wolves now needs Man City to do them and themselves 2 favors. Best Leicester in the league and beat Watford for the FA cup to take Wolves to Europe for the first time in 38 years in their first year back in the Prem.. . But I heard in this thread they were over rated lol
Wolves will finish 7th in the prem behind the big 6 and now just need a man city fa cup to qualify for Europe.
Pedro Neto scored his first goal against Watford. He was also unfortunate to have his goal against Liverpool ruled out. I think we should keep an eye on him for the NT. he seems to have pace and strength.
Neto has been impressive and is now a key part of Wolves' rotation. He just flew by a couple defenders with the ball at his feet the other day at Watford. I didn't expect such pace. He and Vinagre gave Liverpool all kinds of problems, now if Vinagre can just learn to not always go left with the ball.
Wolves vs Manchester United in the FA Cup later today. Jota is injured so expect Neto to start. There may be some rotation due to the large number of games played recently. I'd expect Patricio to be replaced by Ruddy - Nuno likes to use cup games to rest Patricio and give Ruddy some game time. Neves didn't start against Watford, so I'd expect him to play (Wolves looked so much better when he was brought on). Moutinho hasn't had a break recently, so may not start, but he's incredibly fit for his age so who knows? I would also imagine that Vinagre will play (possibly with Jonny switched to the right). As @portugamerifinn said, Vinagre and Neto caused Liverpool all sorts of problems down the left (just ask Trent Alexander-Arnold!) - could be a good partnership for Wolves, and potentially Portugal, for years to come.
Moutinho has been amazing for Wolves. And not just his quality but the fact he is nearly always on the pitch. He has started 11 of 12 Europa League matches and 20 of 21 Premier League matches this season while coming off the bench the two times overall he didn't start. His only full rest has come across two Carabao Cup matches when Nuno rightfully said ******** it and played almost all bench/reserve players.
