Cruzeiro's debt is apparently close to R$1B. One of the options will be to close the club and reopen it as a corporation. They'd have to start in the 4th division.

To make this soap opera worse, they are apparently trying to break the new contract for sponsorship with Adidas. They are switching over from Umbro. The current President believes the new deal is not good enough for the brand. Shirts are scheduled to be on sale on Jan 2nd. Here is the kicker ... Cruzeiro had already advanced 2.5m in royalty fees ! So if they break the contract, they will owe 2.5m + whatever is the amount to break the contract. What a number the previous boards did on the club. Amazing.

It has been said that Cruzeiro is bankrupt by the current "president". I believe filing for bankruptcy and starting in the 4th division would be more viable than continuing with huge debts. The situation of Cruzeiro changed in a matter of months.
    Bad administration.

The possible sale of Gustavo Scarpa to Almeria would be lucrative for Palmeiras. But for the player I don't know if it's interesting. I think Luxemburgo could use it on the team during the season.

I agree with most of your assessments. Sobis looked down to me when he was at Cruzeiro, and he did nothing at Inter. They’ll probably get more from Prass, but don’t expect anything great from him. I’m most intrigued by the Rodrigão signing, but you make a good point. This is probably been their most expensive offseason ever.

Good article on where the money came from. Like I mentioned to you before, Bahia and Ceará should be blueprints for how Nordeste teams are run. Sport is being run for a one year stint in Série A and another quick relegation.

I think the resources should be used to keep either bh or gabigol. I love michael but i don't think he adds anything different to flamengos attack. And then you look at the pedro rocha signing ( which i like) but he is similiar to michael. And I'd like to see lucas silva get a shot. i wonder what mengao thinks.

Fortaleza should be feeling a sense of urgency but their president is in a coma teling us to be patient. Fortaleza really got fuked in the tv rights because they signed a deal when they were in the serie c , so they are getting serie c money from tv

Mls bought two of my favorite players in the lg , charra atmg , and gregore of bahia. BTW bahia is looking like a relegation candidate. Clayson will flop and losing Moises will kill them. Gregore was best player on that team last year. artur gone, and they add rossi lol. They still have time and money but still have a terrible manager.

Botafogo is still a relegation candidate and I am not sure how much Honda has left to offer, but I still think it's a worthwhile gamble by Botafogo and definitely adds some intrigue for me.

you add showza instead of andre/ tardelli and you give showza two fast players on each wing? It will work.

Thiago neves is a different story but its not like he plays over a healthy jean pierre. although gremio might have ruined his career with how they handled his injury.

I have a bad feeling that they will start Renato. I am less worried about Diego performs.

Could this year's Flamengo actually be better than last year? Lots of signings, squad seems really deep even with departures of Mari and Reinier

What are we judging it by? I think they could put up a higher point total but that is a combination of a few things. I think everyone competing with them has gotten worse. Luxa has already exploded in the media about the lack of signings for Palmeiras and they haven't changed anything. Santos is pure ass losing jorge and gustavo henrique with nothing coming in accept raniel lol. We got some old ass Portuguese manager who has been retired for a good 4 or 5 years unless you consider middle eastern football good. Still no number 9 for Santos and we trade Ferraz for one of the worst fullbacks in the lg. The Hipster hype train is building up Atletico Mineiro but they will lose Chara and Cazares , still haven't fixed defense either. Sao Paolo did nothing and is getting older by the minute. The players their won't run or fight unless they are playing Flamengo. They will lose one of their few explosive player Anthony this week. Corinthians has added Luan and a good manager but they don't have the money for much more , I just watched Ponte dominate them. Botafogo and Flu are terrible. Gremio can't be forgotten but it seems like they are losing steam. I'm not seeing how Everton isn't sold by Summer. I think Inter is pretty bad , but everyone's high on them because of signing a foreign manager. They added Rodinei and Moises but that won't help their issues. Dark Horses like Ceara or Bahia will have bad managers and I rate Argel but I can't lie from the shit i've seen. Nobody will give Ceni any ********ing players so that neuters Fortaleza. In short it is an easier road than last year for sure. Granted, we can still see a lot of things happen before the brasileirao.

I think a little bit of complacency will set in with flamengo. the negotiations with gabriel are a metaphor for this and even flamengo fans started to get annoyed by it. And Good luck not playing Michael, he will not like it. I could see him disrupting the lockeroom a lot.

A lot of good points, personally I think they went overboard on new signings, but potentially that is a way to keep complacency from setting in (as players compete for playing time). In reality, at least in most U.S. sports the "super teams" rarely have the expected results. Given that no teams really have the financial firepower/squad depth to compete over the course of a season I'd be surprised if they didn't win it this year, but as always anything can happen in this league.

Agreed, I think they went overboard as well. It feels like more of a bayern munich or big european club buying not to bolster the squad but so the competition can't.
