My condolences to you, Norm. It was a good season for the Union and plenty to build on looking forward. My LA team is still alive after last night's 8 goal thriller. It was quite a fun and electric game to be at. Of course, those 8 goals were shared by both teams last night, which is nothing compared to what Leicester did today. I'm reaping the rewards of tripling up on their attack! Looks like I will have 71 points from 3 players today after bonus points come in! It's feeling all the more special being played first all by itself and not jumbled together with the rest of the weekend's matches.
Congrats on the LAFC win and I’d put my money on them winning the title. Was also glad to see Zlatan lose. He is a great scorer but a total jerk as well.
Zlatan is basically the Donald Trump of soccer. Arrogant and ignorant. His recent statement shows his delusional mind and inflated ego: “If I don’t stay then no one will remember what MLS was”. What a joke.
Fourth annual Sandy Cup tournament starts in just a few weeks with the boxing day matches kicking it off! Stay tuned...
If any Sand Manager doesn't know about how to access our shared Google Docs transfer sheet and current rosters sheet, please contact blech for how to use them. Most of us do, and all of us should, update the transfer sheet and the current roster sheet after making a legal transfer in the Big Soccer forum. Often, I've posted the transfers in Google Docs and updated the rosters without being asked by other managers. I think other managers have as well. But we all should be doing our own updates of those two important docs.
The seedings for the Sandy Cup will be set after this weekend’s results. I’ll plan to post the seedings and first round matchups next Monday. Should be a wide-open tournament since there is no dominant team in Sand. Here are the previous Sandy Cup winners below: 2016-2017 winner: FergyRedNose 2017-2018 winner : FergyRedNose 2018-2019 winner: SoccerSteve
This season’s winner will be crowned on Jan 19. Two-leg quarterfinal, two-leg semifinal and a single gameweek final. Get ready Sandies!
I’m also planning to create an MLS league once MLS fantasy returns in February before the new MLS season starts in March. I’ll post the code on this site for anyone interested, hoping to have a contingent from All Rocks in the league as well as it will be open to public. This will also be a way to attract other fans to All Rocks for next season since I’ll be posting on the MLS league chat to let others know about All-Rocks. Maybe we can finally resurrect the Dust League again (and who knows, maybe Molecules and Atoms divisions will be created too!) Stay tuned
I added a new sheet on the GDoc. Nothing should be typed here. It will auto-populate from the current rosters sheet. Use it as you wish, or dont use it all. I will copy it into my own sheet, and then like to sort, either by team or by position and then by team. I find this helpful when scanning for available players to look on a team by team basis. I ran a sort to show what it looks like, but this wont auto-populate and wont be current once the next trades are done.
The Sandy Cup tournament seedings are now set: Blech Dawgs vs. Tips’ Terrierss Aviators vs. Bunch of Muppets Morning Glory vs. Stormin Gunners Locomotiv Lewisham vs. Kicking and Screaming The next two gameweeks (starting with the Boxing Day matches) will decide the semifinals matchups. Good luck to all!
Just a quick question. We can use the wildcard in this league, and in addition we can also use the bench boost, free hit and triple captain. Is that right?
There were some late changes to points for the recent gameweek which affected the Sand standings/seedings. Here are the new matchups based on the updated seedings: Blechs Dawgs vs. Tips’ Terrierss Aviators vs. Bunch of Muppets Locomotiv Lewisham vs. Stormin Gunners Morning Glory vs. Kicking & Screaming Good luck to all, tournament starts in two days!
I’m currently getting run over by Locomotiv in the first leg (60 points so far), I’ll need a miracle performance from my squad in the second leg to advance...
First leg results of the first round of the Sandy Cup: Blechs Dawgs (55) vs. Tips’ Terrierss (50) Aviators (48) vs. Bunch of Muppets (14) Locomotiv Lewisham (62) vs. Stormin Gunners (45) Morning Glory (32) vs. Kicking & Screaming (38) Good luck to all in the second leg. Gameweek 20 starts tomorrow!
We are at the midway point. After the first 19 game weeks, the table is.... Blechs Dawgs.................994 Aviators...........................948 Lokomotiv Lewisham.....916 Morning Glory.................882 Storming Gunners..........871 Kicking & Screaming......870 Tips' Terriers...................757 BunchofMuppets............750 Good luck in the 2nd half
Did anyone notice that last game week Enderson (MCI's keeper) was mis-scored. He wasn't in the game for the 3 goals against.
It is covered in the rules. If you get a red card, you have all goals that follow counted against you. It makes sense to me - the player responsible for playing down a player is certainly as responsible if not more for any subsequent goals than the players still on the field.
The semifinals matchups are set with Aviators vs. Tips Terrierss and Locomotiv Lewisham vs. Kicking & Screaming. There were some close contests in the quarterfinal round and the eight seed pulled the upset of the tournament vs the top ranked team in our league. I was hoping the 33 pts from my triple captain Mane would see me through but Locomotiv posted another 60+ week and took the highest total of the two legs at 123 points. Aviators won by a 38 point margin and Kicking & Screaming advanced by a much slimmer margin of 9. Here is the breakdown of the results from the quarterfinal matches: Blechs Dawgs (55+31=86) vs. Tips Terrierss (50+57=107) Aviators (48+37=85) vs. Bunch of Muppets (14+33=47) Locomotiv Lewisham (62+61=123) vs. Stormin Gunners (45+64=109) Morning Glory (32+53=85) vs. Kicking & Screaming (38+56=94) Good luck to the semifinalists in the two legs (gameweeks 21 and 22) and then we’ll have a championship final during gameweek 23 to decide the winner of the Fourth Annual Sandy Cup!
New year and a new Arsenal, now with Arteta in charge we will make it into the top four by the end of the season. Take it to the bank
