I am not following your post at all. What is your point?? You just named 6 schools that have coaches that are NOT open, and won't be anytime soon! As for working for the Union, that isn't a given, and having a child playing at the club doesn't help. 12-year-old kids come and go in that setting, and to have parent of a player lurking around isn't always the best. Drexel would be a good gig for him.
Sorry for confusing you. I was thinking out loud (or on the keyboard). You have a successful college head coach <seemingly> looking for a job in the Philly area. What are his options? Temple and Penn are out since they just hired good coaches. LaSalle and St Joe maybe too small. Delaware is having problems so maybe they would make a switch or maybe even Princeton (although not likely). Maybe Drexel? Maybe there is a job with the Union?? They have a lot of positions between the Academy, USL, scouting, etc. Just having a discussion on a board about College soccer on a College soccer board.
Got it, so I’ll add some options too....maybe he becomes the CEO at Comcast, or becomes the lead conductor at the Philadelphia Orchestra, or starts an organic farm, or maybe even a soccer coach at Philadelphia Soccer Club. Endless possibilities.
I think your right in your college availability assessments. Princeton's coach has been there a while and generally competes (of the top of my head). Villanova started real strong last year, but then stuttered to the end of the season.
BC is filled... It’s not Craig Stewart (he pulled his name out) Bob Thompson is being promoted, I assume a release will come out this week
7 NCAA Tournaments in 14 years is pretty good. I would imagine not more than 30 programs or so have more. Seems to me from the letter they were not offering a long term extension and one-year renewals.
A few pages back I posted that BU had promoted an assistant to Associate Head Coach not too long ago. Thus, I insinuated the Roberts’ retirement was likely not a surprise and figured BU would promote from within. Wonder if there is a hold up in terms of other opportunities, comp or control.

Not a very high-profile one. It's in the middle of nowhere, in a low-profile conference and hasn't had a winning season since 2007 and hasn't made the NCAA Tournament since Reagan's first term. The good news is it's two hours from Indy and St. Louis and 3 from Chicago so it's close to some major recruiting areas. But it's definitely a job for someone looking to move up or rehabilitate their career.
