You need to watch a replay of the penalty. And to watch it again if you still hold the same opinion. The arm is clearly extended and isn't glued to the body. You can't extend your bodily surface that way.

I gurss it comes down to your interpretation of the law. I suppose her arm made her body unnaturally bigger, but the defender was trying not to make her body bigger on the side it hit her. If it had hit her right arm I would have fewer problems with the decision.

The key for me is the following:

The new rule says that in situations where "the ball touches a player’s hand/arm directly from their own head/body/foot or the head/body/foot of another player who is close/near" will not result in a penalty.

It did hit her leg first.

I understand why it was given, but I think the defender was very unlucky like Kumagai was in the world cup and I would prefer those kinds of penalties not to be given. To me it comes down to intent. But intent is very hard to judge for a referee.

Are they not going to be live streamed anywhere?

Many hopes that 2020 be a fantastic year for the Japanese Women's National Football/Soccer Nadeshiko Team to climb the Women's Fifa World Rankings to the top three clubs in the world!

Nadeshiko Women's Team to qualify for the Gold Medal game at the summer Olympics 2020 would be one of the many good news headlines we would like to see for Japan Women's Football in 2020.

All the cute players are leaving Nojima. If we follow the logic that only cute players are leaving Nojima, Ohga and Kawashima should be next.

In all seriousness though, losing Kunitake is a big blow for Nojima. Nojima's defence is pretty bad, but a lot of the problems come from Sakuramoto and Ishida, so she is going to be missed. Ohga is going to have a thankless task now.

On the Japanese Nojima thread I follow, people had been saying Kunitake would be leaving since November. Of course people on these threads do tend to talk nonsense, but they got this one right. However, they think she is going to Beleza, I doubt that very much, but I really do not know either way.

Naoko Wada is actually not a bad player and I think was under used at Nojima, so I am not surprised she is moving on. The Japanese used on the Nojima website would indicate that she is not retiring and will be going elsewhere, but where.

She is not a world beater and will never play for Nadeshiko, but she is definitely good enough to play regular football in my opinion. When she was used at Nojima she played well.

Also Nojima are looking for a new coach. Akemi Noda resigned/did not have her contract renewed? She has been ill for the last month, so maybe it is connected, but it probably has more to do with Nojima's poor football this season.

Also if Haruhi Suzuki is leaving Nagano then she is more than welcome to join Nojima.

 

There is no footage that I can find at this point for this particular game. Sporting Huelva had a player sent off, and after that they conceded three goals.

All I know is that Yoko missed a penalty! Her confidence must be even worse after that. I can't remember her missing a penalty before.

I don't want to make too many excuses for her, but it must be quite a bit of a footballing culture shock for her. Just from watching the games I have noticed how much more vocal and critical the Spanish players are compared to Japanese players.

Japanese players tend to keep grievances with each other to a minimum, or at least polite until after the game. It is just something I have noticed watching Huelva.

Oh yeah and Kunitake is moving to Sendai.
