Canada is going to be tough to beat if our backline doesn't improve.... they have some very good players. I watched Davies play for Bayern last week and the announcers called him a prodigy. The D really needs to come together.
Ian Darke mentioned late in the game, that we're headed to Europe for the March friendlies. 2020 would look like: January: Camp in Qatar (with I assume friendlies) March: Friendlies in Europe June: Nations League Finals (we still have to beat Cuba to qualify) September: Hex Games October: Hex Games November: Hex Games
I'd love to see us play Spain or England for one of the matches and an Eastern European (Croatia or Poland) for the other match.
Where did you get this info? Hugo Carrillo, the prez of FESFUT seems to believe that the USA will have a Camp Cupcake at home and that they will be hosting his El Salvador on February 1st. http://www.elsalvador.com/deportes/...ona-nacionalizacion-de-bryan-gil/660004/2019/ BTW, Iceland will also be in California, which means that the USA could play them as well. The last time the USA played Iceland was in January 2016; a chance for a rematch 4 years later. Time to start the 2020 thread?
Were playing one game in Qatar, one closed door scrimmage against a club, and then a home game. Looks like El Salvador is the home game
https://sports.yahoo.com/usmnt-plan...tar-host-of-the-2022-world-cup-151038438.html Plans could change, but that El Salvador friendly does fit into those reported plans
Well Mexico will make the most money from this thing for CONCACAF. So it won't be in Charlotte NC or the Dallas TX area since those are the two places Mexico will be playing in for their March 2020 friendlies. I would also bet good money that it won't be in Florida since the last #USMNT game was there and they played in Orlando twice in 2019.
The USMNT drew extremely well at Allianz Field during the Gold Cup http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_CONCACAF_Gold_Cup_Group_D They could return to Minnesota in June 2020. Why not?
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...orld-cup-venue-education-city-not-ready-qatar i wonder if this has anything to do with announcement delay
just to underline something here, we would be inside 30 days on a camp beginning no later than mid january, with no game announcements. a game in late january or early february would be 6 weeks away. and then you'd have to come back home, train a little, and play a home game. then mls begins 2/29. we've sent people over to qatar on a few junkets how is there no announcement.
Great news (if confirmed) [courtesy of @feyenoordsoccerfan ] The Orange team meets USA in a friendly to prepare for the EC2020.
if we schedule holland that basically means the team we have just seen is more or less the team to be used next summer and on into qualifying. the march international dates would be dress rehearsal and then LoN also serious. you're not going to have holland, honduras, CR/mexico, and turn this into, let's see if the U20s, U23s, or others can help. the only experimental time before WCQ would be cupcake, and cupcake is MLS. U23s would be out because they qualify in april. if there is upside it would be this sounds like a 3-4 road game schedule to start the year. but other than perhaps adams or holmes -- or cupcake people -- this schedule would set up as battle hardening the same unit we already grumble about.
The USMNT friendly vs El Salvador still seems to be a go: http://www.elgrafico.com/selecciones/Primera-Division-decide-prestar-dos-jugadores-por-equipo-como-maximo-para-enfrentar-a-Islandia-20191212-0011.html February 1st. Not in L.A. not in Houston? Dallas? SF Bay area?
Wales in March?? USSF in talks with Wales for the second #usmnt match. No deal yet.— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) December 15, 2019
To be honest, I don't think that it does. There ares still those other two stadiums and training grounds that will not be in use. I think that the timing is simply wrong; the camp would need to be too early in January. I think it likely that they will go to Qatar in January 2021 instead. In McIntyre's article he mentions scrimmages against Bundesliga sides. This would have to be on January 15th at the absolute latest since those club teams are back in action in Germany on January 17th-19th . If you think that the camp will end in the USA with a friendly against El Salvador on February 1st, that would be a fairly long camp! Who might the USA face if they go though? Sweden, Moldova and Kosovo are all going to Qatar in January. If you look at their plans there is only one possibility for the USMNT. Sweden is a no: http://www.svenskfotboll.se/nyheter/landslag/2019/12/qatar/ Moldova is a no: http://fmf.md/ro/news/jucam-amical-cu-suedia-selectionerul-firat-anuntat-lotul but Kosovo mention they are working on setting up a potential second friendly against an unnamed opponent that isn't Moldova or Sweden on January 16th and will actually extend their planned stay in Qatar by at least 3 days if it happens: http://ffk-kosova.com/miqesorja-me-suedine-mundesi-e-mire-per-lojtaret-qe-nuk-kane-pasur-hapesire/ "Shala ka bërë të ditur se Kombëtarja e Kosovës do të qëndrojë në Katar prej 8 deri më 13 janar, por nëse aranzhohet edhe ndeshja e dytë miqësore, atëherë qëndrimi do të jetë më i gjatë, ngase miqësorja e dytë nëse realizohet do të zhvillohet më 16 janar." So if the Qatar camp thing does happen, Kosovo would almost certainly be the opponent, with the match almost certainly taking place January 16th.
