Christian gets the start in the deciding game of the group stage. Win (against 1 point Lille) and Chelsea advance. Second is the most likely outcome (they can win the group if the other match ends in a draw).

Let's go! Just to add: a tie only helps Chelsea if Ajax wins against Valencia.

Could be a wild ass 2 hours as even Ajax needs a tie to guarantee advancement.

Lille make NINE changes from the weekend league match.

Chelsea three sets of fresh legs - Jorginho for Mount which may indicate a different midfield approach, Emerson for James, Rudiger for Christensen. We'll see if Rudiger is back yet or not. Mount, Bats, Hudson-Odoi and James will likely be the subs (three of those four).

Win and go through or get lucky for Chelsea. Here we go.

I thought Valencia would have been a big wake up call for this team. But for the completely unnatural display of non-scoring in front of goal, Valencia could and should have won 6-2 at home.

Chelsea have to possess the ball longer in better defensive positions. They have to attack with a better team shape to recover on the turn over. They continue to attack and leave their very shaky defenders in positions they can't (but should) defend.

Quiet in here. Abraham sets up Pulisic just inside the box, who shoots through traffic low just wide of the far post lefty. Oh well.

ugh. CP in the box, sends his left footed shot just wide. He wants that back.

Because it's a weekday afternoon game that isn't on TV.

Your updates will be extremely appreciated though. :)

It should be noted, it is absolutely pissing rain. I hope some of CP's quick cuts can get some players slipping.

Lille playing a 3-4-3 in attack, morphs into a 5 man backline. Not much room on the sides for CP to operate on the corners. Pretty good formation to defend Chelsea.

Pulisic lays off to Kante 20' out. Kante's first shot is block, Kante blasts rebound just wide of near post.

Is tamori injured? I'd prefer him to zouma any day, especially this one.

GOAL! Kante lays off to Pulisic 35' out, who takes a couple dribbles and plays to Willian wider out right, Willian cuts to end line, cutback cross to Abraham 3' out wide open, makes no mistake with finish on open goal as keeper was near post to protect against Willian.

Could try Kovacic and Kante switching roles, but I think this is good for today.

pulisic the hockey assist, 1-0 chelsea. Great play from Kante, Pulisic, Willian to create the goal and Tammy in a great spot to poach it home.

Kante lays off to CP, who goes central, beats man, lays off to Willian and Tabraham with a fat kid under the basket goal.

Announcer spent about 5min talking about Kante chest layoff to CP as the key to everything, not the run, lay off and cross.

Willian clever driven long pass to CP at the top of the box, lays wide to Emerson who cuts back and shoots too close to keeper.

Pulisic magic run beating three men to endline, cutback cross is nearly the mirror image to Abraham's first goal, but this time a defender gets a foot to it for a corner. CP just looked WAY better than the Lille defense on that one. Chelsea aggressively looking for #2.
